Eve and windows proxy settings

Alright,

i've been trying to install eve on a laptop. After having problems installing it via the Launcher, i did the offline installation and it worked just fine.

Now when i run the launcher, it connects just fine, it shows the correct server status, i can actually log my character in but still i get an error message that prevents me from connecting to the game.

The message says that eve can not connect to "http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt".

Now the problem seems to be that the laptop has http_proxy settings that i can not change due to windows policies.

Is there a way to somehow get eve to ignore the http_proxy settings? The browser the launcher uses already connects just fine, it's just that one service that tries to use the proxy settings.

And no, this is totally not my work laptop. I swear. Bear

Oh and connecting directly with eve.exe doesn't work either, that one just starts the launcher.
