MTU Tractor's small bits of wreckage

I discovered today that the MTU tractors small bits of what look to be wreckage. But when I try to select the wreckage it is not selectable. The MTU then methodically plays Back and Forth with other MTU's by passing the wrecks between each other.

Is there any way to solve this issue by making the wrecks able to be collected by the MTU?
