Hi Guys,

I am returned to Eve after another of many long absences.

This may be something old that I never noticed before, but pretty sure its something new that I just don't know about. In any case, im insanely curious.

When you first zone in to somewhere (I usually notice it when exiting a station dock), there are a couple flashing square's every once in a while... one red with some circles around it, one green. Am attaching a screenshot.

They go away after a few seconds.. but there is nothing clickable there and I can see no obvious indications of what it is... and would love to know.

Anyone?

Its the Sensor overlay

The squares show the location of stuff you can scan down.

Open the probe scanner (one of the litter buttons to the left of the capacitor) this is the ui screen used with probes.
The green squares will be entirely green here with a signal strength of 100% and can be warped to immediately.
The red ones will have a signal strength of 0% and will require the use of a probe launcher and scanning probes beforehand.
The exploitation career agent will have a tutorial regarding this and there are a few videos on YouTube (search "post ODYSSEY scanning") that'll be rather more helpful than anything ye can tell you(not fobbing you off here, it's just the process doesn't lend itself to written instructions) .

Ahh...

Ok, cool. I actually played around with this once upon a time, but I sure don't remember those things... I always had to open the probe UI before seeing anything before I think.

Anyway, sweet... Thanks guys!

That's the probing overhaul.

Remember that before your break if you wanted to know if there were anomalies / signatures in your system you have to manuall do that system scan from the scanning window...

CCP found out we are lazy cave (read: basement) dwelling creatures that have to multitask between EVE, pizza and booze...so they automated that part for us.
