I used to fly an armor Talos solo with HG Slaves and 5% armor hp. It's been a bit since I've flown it but OL CNAM nets you 1100+ Dps while having a 60K+ Ehp tank but also being faster than most other BC. For your purposes it may not work but I rarely lost them and they were a ton of fun to use. Many would expect a shield Talos and thus got as close as they could to get under my guns. I melted them with Ions. Metastasis/TC makes it hit just about all the time

The problem with a solo Talos, imo, is that the majority of your engagement profile simply isn't flown very much right now.

Ishtars will eat you alive, and you can't hold down and hit frigs. Dessies you will kill, or they will run, and brawling cruisers will be your bread and butter. BCs will largely depend on how they are fit, but many of them you will be able to kill as well. The issue is that hardly anyone flies brawling cruisers or BCs solo anymore. Almost everything flown solo is frigates, or kity/nano cruisers, Ishtars, navy augs, etc. And those will just run away and pound the **** out of you.

It's worth a try, if you can afford to lose a few of them, but I would be very cautious with your target selection.

I've toyed with a sniper Talos setup for quite a while: 425mm railguns and practically zero tank, sebo'd for range and locktime, and as much damage/tracking as I can squeeze in there. It's not nearly as effective as a Tornado for this, but it can still insta-blap a number of frigates and destroyers. Even active-repping assault frigates can be on the menu. Navy Thorium ammo seems to give the best range/damage combo with a 110km falloff. Navy antimatter performs better, but you have to get much closer, putting your 100mil glass cannon at greater risk.

It's a ton of fun to fly like this, but I'll admit it isn't ISK efficient as far as killmails are concerned. It is, however, very effective at disrupting enemy fleets, pushing them off their objective by blapping their support ships and harassing them incessantly. It can also be used defensively at fixed points by nailing smaller kiting ships (like the Caracal for example) from far outside their range.

The one advantage the Talos gets over its rivals is the ability to field a full flight of light drones. I tend to carry ecm drones to escape tacklers that get under my guns. It's saved my ass numerous times. Always fight aligned when sniping.

I haven't tried a brawling Talos yet myself, but I've seen them used to great effect. It's all about tank/dps. 30k ehp is puny for a battlecruiser, but 1100+dps can more than make up for that. The trick would be landing within range and dropping the hammer quickly. Chances are, doing this solo is unlikely. But, if you could work with a partner who flies either bait or fast tackle (interceptor or assault frigate) then they could provide you with that all-mighty 'warp to zero'. Catch one HAC in a belt or mission and you're ahead.

Here's a fit I think I might try myself:

Bait ships are actually easy to avoid. Don't ram sketchy dudes in prophecies or nerei and you're good. It's trash like you with resebo camps that ruin people's gameplay experience.

You've ruined your own experience by not realizing that resebo gate camps are part of the nature of a PVP sandbox game and fall perfectly in line with the "you're not safe anywhere" aspect of EVE.

I think you should try a different game, like this one.

Hey guys.
