I've been doing lvl3 missions fine, except for the one with the Amarr raiders with "imperial" in their names. I skilled up a bit since then and now I have a little bit more in cap skills and amor skills, plus I've been using different tactics. I've been picking off the easier targets and taking the shields out of the tougher ones with irdium, then moving in with faction antimatter while tanking and cutting them down in a min or so.

240dps still hard to cut through their armor tank. The magic range seems to be 11km, so im close enough for the antimatter yet outside of cap drain range for them.

I have Hull Upgrades, Mechanics, and Repair systems at 4

CPU managment, Cap managment, Power Grid and Weapon Upgrades at 3, capacitor system operation at 4

Controlled bursts, Med Hybrid Turrets, Motion Prediction, Sharpshoter at 3, Gunnery, Rapid Firing, and small Hybrid Turret at 4.

Afterburner at and high speed manuvering at 3,

Curiser at 3, frigate at 4.

I was going to work at the specialized armor resists skills for each damage type next, then go for cruiser 4. I think Im going to keep the MWD on the cruiser for the added speed, I dont leave it on and I pulse it when needed, for the frigate I have Im going to switch to an afterburner because Im worried about the signature penalty.

Any suggestions for what skills to train next? I'm probably going to stay on lvel threes until I can afford a BB in terms of skills and isk to run fours. I'm probably going to skip battlecruisers. The Talos looks very interest because it looks like the only "real" battlecruiser in game for the gallente, but if I'm going to use a ship for lvel fours, it may as well have the tanking ability.

Weapon Upgrades IV since it will help you with your CPU AND it will allow you to use Magnetic Field Stabilizers II and Tracking Enhancers II, Talos with your skill set and even with the skill set you are going to obtain in the next weeks won´t run any level IVs I suggest to train CPU management and Power managedment to at least IV but TBH I already mentioned all that plus that it is foolish to continue to neglect especially the fitting skills and aim for a battlecruiser with large guns on top that literally no one uses for level 4.....

It seems to me that this is not a thread seeking advice but one to seek approval for your plans ....but oh well, it is always the same story. If you don´t plan to listen anyways why ask? Ah yes seeking approval not advice I forgot

I'm asking for advice on the BC because I know that eve takes a long time to train certain skills, so I want to know now if it's a goal worth working toward, or should I just skip and go for the BBs for level four.

I know have a long way to go, but.. I'd like to train skills and work toward something other than highly specializing in a cruiser. I'd like to do level 4s eventually.

assault bc's are fairly situational
(that situation usually bein when an fc(fleet commander) screams at you asks nicely for you to Fecking kill this ******** kindly bring more dps)

they are not good for running missions.

fyi most pvp happens at battlecruiser and smaller so you would be fine sticking with cruisers , tec 3 cruisers can do lvl4's (admittedly they are a bit of a train but well worth it).

Bigger =/= better

Overall, training to use the better gear is vastly more important than training into bigger ships. We all made that mistake early on, and most of us learned the hard way (bigger/more expensive toys are like beacons to ganking pirates.)

Last night, just for this thread, I decided to try out a shield/rail thorax on a lvl3 using basic antimatter. Granted, my gunnery skills are all maxed, as is Gallente Cruiser V. I used 200mm railgun-ii's, 2x kinetic screen-ii's (caldari npcs) with a Medium Shield Extender-II and an afterburner (can't stress enough that an an is better than a mwd in missions), a Damage Control-II, 1x Tracking Enhancer-II, 3x Mag-stab-IIs, and hammerhead II's. Blew through it without much problem, despite being jammed out half the time. Drones kept doing their thing, and I focused on killing the jammers asap. Fit resistances for the specific damage you expect, and you're golden.

After that I did two lvl4s in a similarly tanked VNI. I dropped the prop mod all together for two kinetic screens and two LSEs and used a combination of Geckos and Hammerhead-II's, and tore through them just fine.

Frankly, focus on using all-t2 gear in the t1 cruisers before moving up to bigger, shinier hulls. You'll be much better off this way.

I like cruisers so I don't mind throwing skills at it and specializing. Two quick questions. I know about mods, but what are the differences between the t1 and t2 cruiser hulls besides maybe better per level class bonuses?

Also why the AB over the mwd on a cruiser in missions? Sig radius? Sustainable compared to the mwd?

I have equal skills in both so right now I can go down either.

I guess generally when do you wanna use a mwd over an ab and vice versa? I use the mwd and tend to pulse it

Ab takes up less power grid and cap when fitting,
leaving room for better modules in your other slots,
olso as you mention Sig radius and sustainability(but mainly fitting, mwd's are hungry).

the differences between the t1 and t2 cruiser hulls are vast and varied.
t2 hulls have specific roles and excel in those but you can do more things with t1 hulls (note: not at the same time)

t1-general
t2-specific

Got it. Thanks for advice. Ill modify my fit and maybe I can get a dps rig in from the power I saved. I'm training those advanced armor skills up now. Too bad they don't all apply to adaptive plating, but i suppose that it would be broken if they did ha.
