Another person who equates homosexuality with something bad, and something to be laughed at, and you attempt to call ME the bigot?

Seriously, you should take a good look at yourself before you point fingers.

i was pointing out that in most places homosexuality is considered, if not bad, at least worthy of ridicule, and that you wouldn't have made that comment if you weren't aware of that. i'm not sure how being aware that homophobia is a thing that exists makes one homophobic

And clearly you have not noticed I avoid doing anything that "most people" do, especially attempting to mock people for something completely natural.

I dont care what "most people" in "most places" do.

If you find that they do this acceptable, then you are part of the problem too.

???

you're implying that you were acting without any influence at all from the homophobic society that you are immersed in, and your idea to do a play on words off of "hobo" was based on... what, exactly? where do you think the idea that calling someone a homosexual is funny even comes from if not the idea that homosexuality is inherently gross and funny

and somehow, critiquing something that is both derived from and contributes to a culture of homophobia is homophobic now? :|

No, let me explain this one more time as you are having so much difficulty

YOU are assuming I was making a reference to homosexuality (Which I wasnt)

YOU are the one claiming it was meant as an insult (Which it wasnt)

Therefore YOU think being homosexual is something shameful, bad, or funny.

I can't make my feelings on this any clearer.

I will NOT be held accountable for YOUR attitude.

I've gone berserk over slurs in GD, and I will continue to do so if I see one.

In Ramona's case, my experience is that Ramona has been consistently vocal in favor of gender and difference/preference equality and respect.. often taking a stronger stand than I have the courage to express.

Nothing Ramona says, from my limited understanding, is coincidental.. so don't become the poor souls who find themselves at the wrong end of a GD posting grudge match. Her intention is not to be bigoted or biased or any of those things..

Let's help Space Hobo find some space adventures..

hold on, so your argument is based off the idea that you through of, typed out, and posted a comment containing the word "homo" without at all thinking about homosexuality, its assumed comedic value, or how someone reading that comment might interpret it. that's a lil...

... ok, whatever, i'll go back to crying over confessions of a mask now or something

I dont care how others choose to understand what I say, because I dont wear a mask. The meaning was clear between myself and the person I was talking to.

I feel it is time when our culture should develop beyond such nonsense.

If something is bad, I call it bad.

Dwell in the meanderings of a terrible past if you wish, but I would recommend striving for a better future.

That's why the world Yukio Mishima details does not exist in that country anymore.

What you don't seem to understand is that it is Ok to call another player "Homo" if you are Ramona because she understands what she means and you don't! Get it?

(Sibbyl I was trying to be snarky but thanks for the like. The fact that you are a 40 year old dude doesn't make my appreciation that you have the hottest avatar in EvE any less disturbing.)

I know the work but I fail to see the connection.

However, Russia's time will come.

the joke is that the cartoon is interpreted as being a reference to homosexual persecution and you can read it as a self-loathing clueless straight ally thing or as a self-loathing homosexual thing

Even though its just the Ugly Duckling and its slang connotation is a reverse application. Fair enough, I suppose I understand it from that point of view.

Because every single one of us on here is Homo.... hopefully all of us sapienses, because if there are any neanderthalensi, my professor has a lot of explaining to do.

note: every Homo sapiens has at least 2% neanderthalensis DNA.
note: let's re-affirm, here, that sapiens is singular, not plural, and "sapien" is completely incorrect.

anyway i'm done making uncomfortable jokes about my sexual orientation so instead i'll just say that there's probably something in here that could provide the material for a good social experiment

or if y'all don't want to comb thru a whole textbook, i'm sure one of these could be adapted for use in the space video game
