Hallo

Have played for about 2 weeks now, so im still very new at this game.

I mostly play pve mission (lv 1 and soon lv 2), primarely to learn the game better. Will move on to others things later, when i get a better understanding of the game. But for now i stick at Pve missions.

And have all the needed tech and ISK to move up to a cruiser.

But before i spend all my heard earned ISK then i hope for some adwise on which Gallente cruiser to buy.

So which ship should i take a look at (buy)? and why ?

Thx for you help

I don't PVE a whole lot, but personally I would think the Vexor is your best option.

EDIT, Also a Algos might be better for Lvl2's, It'll be cheaper if you somehow mess up. =P

I'm always coming across badly fit vexors so apparently it's forgiving enough to be considered newbie friendly.

If you have the gunnery skills (especially in hybrids) and don't want to look at a flying bug, the Thorax is always an option. Back when I was a newbie myself, the Thorax was my first and favourite cruiser.

Vexor - Great for missions with a natural progression to the Myrmidon / Ishtar / Dominix with drones are your primary source of DPS. All the drone boats ive mentioned are very forgiving and very adaptable.

Thorax - Ok for missions, (Pretty good for level 1 & 2) - Natuarl progression leans towards the Bruitix / Deimos / Megathron (Maybe Hyperion)
These Blaster / Rail Boats require the need of a decent tank with mobility to get within optimal range to apply DPS.

Personally the Vexor is Missioning on easy mode and with its T2 brother the Ishtar you can pretty much do most PVE content in game.. I personally like the interaction with EvE and the NPCs and I love the Deimos now it has the extra mid slot.

Its all personal choice.

Id advise watching youtube footage and have a think about where you want to go and do..

Thorax would be much better for new player. Vexor is the best T1 cruiser now, but to use it properly you need drones skill at 5. Thorax can be used with Gunnery and Medium Hybrid at 3 no problem.

I would say Vexor if you do have reasonable drone skills, Thorax if you do not.

But since you mentioned "heard earned ISK"... If this is not a scam for money I would consider to go Amarr way. Their ships do not require buy new and new munition over and over again. They can change optimal range instantly, simply swapping crystals. No "wait 5 seconds till I reload that gun". Amarr ships rely on armor just as gallente, they also have drone boats, but if you will decide to test missles - they also has missle drone boats. You can go do missions in Simela for SOE, getting much better reward because SOE LP is much simplier to convert to ISK.

+1 for Amarr boats, while I'm a bit infatuated with the ishkur at the moment iv deeply inappropriate lusty feelings for the entire Amarr line.

The only problem with them though is you NEED good cap skills to fly them remotely effectively, though if you don't actually have those the Amarr line will force you into training them and they're likely going to be useful for you.

Go Gallente or go home.... >=)

The neat thing about the Gallente line-up is that there is a little bit of everything, and most ships can be tanked either way: armor or shields. For missions, you'll find shield-buffer tanks are usually best, as they regenerate passively and don't eat up your capacitor. On either the Vexor or the Thorax, you can use an Adaptive Invulnerability Field, two Large Shield Extenders, and an Afterburner in the mids and be quite safe in missions up to lvl3.

As for which one you should train for, the answer lies in which type of combat style you think you'd enjoy most. Blaster-boats do the highest raw dps in the game, but are extremely limited in range. Railguns do great damage at range, which makes them great for both pve and PvP, but are limited in their ability to track fast targets. Drones are a great stand-off weapon, don't use up ammo, and allow you to choose which damage type you want to dish out, but are limited in speed (keeping up with the target) and don't do nearly as much dps as turrets, so you have to be patient and have a very tanky setup to survive incoming damage longer. Everything in Eve is a compromise.

Honestly, doing missions with a drone boat is among the most efficient but boring ways to go. I prefer a railgun Thorax for missions myself, but started using a Vexor Navy Issue recently for lvl4s. In short, pick a long-term combat style and focus your training on that till you've mostly mastered that, then branch out. Good luck!
