I remember seeing Mining Mega's semi often back in the day.

As for the "expansions" being named the same as ships a lot... yea. Misleading forum posts.

Besides the fact that fit purposely does not use one damn bonus... People like to try and fit big crap everywhere and wonder why they can't fit something in that extra high slot all the time. Funny how some people dont get the ships are purposely balanced in more ways then one.


Just put a salvager on there and deactivate it ;)

thanks for making my head hurt for a few seconds before I was like "oh OK he's being a smartass I get it" lol.

I'm not sure about the history behind it, but ISKtheGuide discusses mining battleships as a "safe" option. Is this something people used to do?

Yup, back before the barge changes.

A ship like a Rokh or Apocalypse had a lot of high turret slots for the lasers and enough of a tank to endure an average nullsec belt rat spawn. Dominix was probably the best though, as it could use its drones to kill the rats, and then pull out mining drones for when the combat drones took out the rats.

A real pro would fit gyros...

People used to mine with battleships before the exhumer came out. You can still get pretty good yield from a mining Rokh but I don't think it makes sense today. The Procurer probably has about the same tank with more yield. I'm not on my computer so I can't verify this.

OK..I am not leaving you hanging here without an answer...so here you go:

This fit is terrible because...

1.it completely ignores the hull bonus of the ship (armor rep + hybrids)

2. it needs 4 (!!) fitting mods without giving any advantage over standard fits

3. it has no buffer whatsoever, making it bad for PVP. But ASBs on the other hand make it bad for extended PVE, too.

4. I didn't EFT it, but I am just guessing that with the Tachs, cap should be depleted within seconds maybe.

5. further reasons that I can't think of.

but then again, you could argue this fit isn't bad at all, but a stroke of genius, because of

6. Tachyons. Never not put Tachyons on everything.

3. Isn't entirely true. Active tanked ships can generally do without extra buffer. Especially active shield tank as the HP repair is at the beginning of the cycle.

Hyperion 1.2 is released now...

Thrasher, Cyclone and variants are fixed...

Something something broken burner something is fixed..

Annoying **** tons of frig wormholes is fixed...

XLASB Tach Hyperion is STILL broken...

Perhaps in Hyperion 1.3 tomorrow.. maybe.. we will have the fix that the world is waiting on..


Just to let you know CCP.. if you would just let CCP NakedMan take a break from fighting the volcano.. he could totally have this fixed in like.. 3 minutes.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Me thinks that CCP NakedMan needs to be at the next Fanfest. Pretty sure his unbridled ferocity would take fanfest by storm.

Hell, even after fighting the Volcano he might have some great scar stories.
