Capsuleer Models Through the Ship Portal

Currently we are able to see the Pilots inside of the cockpits of Fighters and Fighter Bombers. I think that we should also be able to see our characters model through certain ship cockpits as well.

Such ships would include all frigates and destroyers.

Although located within a Pod deep inside of the ship the character model would be a representation of your in station character where you could change the appearance of the Pilot Model three times a year at a cost 10 million ISK per change.

Because you can totally see an individual pilot through a dark window in a ship the size of a Boeing 747 (see: frigate size) from 1000+ meters away. Roll

Why?

In your last paragraph, you basically admit that there is no logical reason for you to see your character through a window. So, why?

And think about the effort that would have to go into this idea versus the expected benefit. There's the initial high cost of having to remodel all existing ships to accomodate this, as well as develop the various cockpits and code the mechanic, followed by the persistant cost of increased server demand as character details have to be constantly transmitted to other players on grid (Read: More TiDi). All for something that's 10 minutes of "Oh, that's cool" followed by an eternity of neglect.

Guys, it´s Saturday and Drysons regular post of the week.

He made one surprisingly decent post once, but it was under the week and an exception in both cases.

I know, it smells like ad hominum, but it doesn't mean its not the truth ,)

Cheers .. cya all in the stream chat Blink

You understand that these ships don't have cockpits they have bridges and that you don't even use these bridges and are tucked nicely away in your pod to pilot these ships

Wow I guess someone needs to bring the Duh Hammer out.

Like I stated the model that can be seen through the cockpits window would be a representation of the actual pilot.

Some people like looking at theirself from the outside, sorta like having an out of body experience.

to bad the actual pilot is in his pod unless your willing to go down with the ship and make it so none of your skills affect your ship just to see your little avatar in a window

To what reason do you want a visual of your pilot shown?

There ar eno pilots in EVE. A frigate is slightly bigger (longer) than a 747 (a VERY LARGE PLANE), with its additonal mass, itd be easy to assume a frigate would have a BRIDGE, an area where 3+ people sit in an open space controling various systems. a frigate is also too alrge to maneuver like a fighter, so again, why would it need a pilot.

and beyond all of that, capsuleers are in a pod, integrated where the bridge used to be but was gutted out to make room for the pod. you can see a person through the pod, the pod is a large metallic box/bubble.

so really, seeing pilots through the windows of giant spaceships makes little sense.

Were inside of a sealed pod with no windows, and naked inside said pod except for underwear ( i think thats how sci-fi pornos start ). Plus windows are a tactical disadvantage in space since they're squishier than diborite plating would be and could provide an easy location for atmosphere leaking. use the camera drones to see not the windshield.
