(revised bond)
Greetings,

I’ve decided to pop-in again and see what the EVE Dev’s have created since I was last active. Seeing as I am a more of an annual participant in the game I’m going a little larger than I have in the past with this current Nemi-Mini bond at 1,500,000,000.00 isk @ 7.5% to adjust for inflation within the EVE economy.

I am the original account owner and can honestly say I thoroughly enjoy the ability to jump in and out of the game utilizing the Market Discussions bond market capital to fund my month long incursions into the current version of the game.

As always as for any reason the bond becomes insolvent or unprofitable I will before the maturity date sell personal assets to repay the promise of the bond offering. Assets include an Obelisk, Thanatos and Orca. (point being I got enough to cover your investment).

I offer 10 shares @ 150,000,000.00 each @ 12.5% (they should under historical circumstances move quickly) Each share should mature at 18.75 million isk.

Each share holder will receive an update 10 days apart with the final update resulting in the bond maturity payment in full.

I hadn't ever had to front any asset for collateral before. Maybe we could come up with something, for now I think I'm going to price the #7 bond within the the range I have traditionally. Usually 1 or 2 people buy it out but its more fun if more for me when a handful of people get to participate.

With that being said I'm going to revise the Bond to 1.5 billion and temper my ambitions this time around.

Someone scammed a few bil and then posted a how-to on C&P, naturally a flood of lazy paupers came here to beg soon after.

yikes I never thought it would go this long with such low activity. In a last effort to save what I consider my "gameplay" (I only do this for the fun of it).

I'm raising the payout to 12.5% from 7.5% (AA you will get bumped as well)

This version of MD feels like an entirely different planet.

Hi Nemi,

It seems to be a tab bit slow on the take up, so if you want i'll pick up the full amount of the bond.

Just let me know and i'll get the isk transfered.

Cheers,

AA go ahead, something terrible seems to have happen to MD since I was last through here, I should have had 1bil in buy orders by now.

What happen to you MD!

To: Arancar Australis,

Greetings;

Look's like the Nemi-mini Bond #7 1.5 Billion @ 12.5% (30 day bond) will be solely your personal venture.

You will receive updates 10 days apart with the 3rd and final update following your maturity payment of the bond to the tune of 187,500,000.00 isk. ( 1.5 billion isk at 12.5% interest).

The 30 day period will begin once the funds are transferred in full,

Grats on the bond fill :) I have also returned to EVE after a long absence, and also I was puzzled to see how hard it was to fill a new bond, and I have a comment about it.

In a sense it seems MD has grown up after a new round of scams. I think serious offers will still be filled.

I noticed though that you said about your bond "I only do this for the fun of it". If I was an investor, I would be looking for offerings where the bond is only a part of a larger goal (like world domination, financing an industrialist), and it is therefore important that it is succesful for the person offering it.

With your statement that the bond itself is only made for fun, and thus is a roleplay project of its own merit, you are signalling that whether or not the bond fills is of no importance. Worse, you are signalling that whether or not you succeed in the business part of the bond, is not important. (I don't think that is what you meant, so I am making more of a general comment.)

Playing EVE is something we all do "for the fun of it". However, if you have set larger goals for yourself in EVE, then smaller parts of your gameplay (e.g. missions) can be considered as means to get closer to those goals. A bond is ideally a means for you to reach your goals, it better not be a standalone source of entertainment to you. And as an investor I would look for bonds that need to be succesful, and where failure of succes will be bad for the overall gameplay of the person offering it.

Hi Cista2,

MD has changed over time.

Currently, it sports low activity, ISK has been made easier to make, so less people start small bonds.

At the same time, over the years scammers have learned more and more advanced tecniques, from creating convincing websites to "farming" multiple trusted "personalities" to use later, to social engineering.

At the same time the only (big or small, I leave you to decide) bump on their road to riches, the Auditors, has basically gone.

At the same time the "second generation" MD posters (first generation included many including the "MD Elites" of old) have quit or have slowed down on posting. By second generation I mean those who post since 2009-ish, including me, you, RAW23 and others. I see Flakeys still posts often enough (living-with-wife induced posting! Pirate) but not many others do.

This also leads to "MD fragmentation", that is without a tight or fluent community, things get quiet and people don't know each other enough, so trust (a big MD currency) gets scarce and with trust scarcity less people post and / or ask for bonds.

Last but not least: EvE economy mechanics and even in game interaction are now one of if not the one stale mechanics that never got an upgrade. Even industry got revamped (I won't say for the better or the worse), CCP even announced new mechanics for POSes (another super-dead-horse) but markets... those stay the same. With the 1980 super "retrò" User Interface featuring Middle Age charts delivering only min / max / average and volume.

Update #1 Nemi-Mini Bond #7
From: Nemi Lethal
Sent: 2014.09.05 01:50
To: Arancar Australis,

Greetings;

This is your first update concerning the Nemi-mini Bond #7. Upon securing the initial payment of 1.5 billion isk August 26th, 2014 a series of buy orders dealing exclusively in Gallente Weaponry were placed and traded over the past 10 days. (Yes, this time around Nemi is strictly a Gallente arms dealer!).

Along with using isk not currently tied up in escrow collateral was secured to run various courier contracts between major trade hubs.

At this time between open sell orders, escrow and cash on hand this bonds current projected profitability to date is between 110mil to 120mil isk.

I fully expect to reach the bond’s promised maturity of 187.5million isk this upcoming weekend.

Cheers
