but when it takes over a week and no response for a peitition i have to tell you to **** off.

Depends on the issue, some things get sorted quickly. If it is a low priority matter it will take time I know people that have waited for several weeks before getting a response. Be patient, they only have so many staff to deal with petitions and thousands are logged each week.
