I agree "Pubbie" is a very cute and cuddly word. Like baby or sweetie. I think it's supposed to be some kind of insult or such somehow connected with medieval European agricultural systems.

But since it's such a cute word and the current definition, whatever that is, doesn't seem to match the words pronouncement I think i'll change the definition to: A person whom one aspires to become (either/and) socially, emotionally, sexually and/or psychologically intimate with.

Ex. "That guy that works in the mornings at our Starbucks is now officially my pubbie."

Also: Test alliance, this is why few people want you and your fellow members as their pubbies. It turns out that pulling the girl/boy you like's hair stops being an effective dating technique in grade school.

Does anyone have a link to the engagement a few months ago where the 20-man TEST BC fleet was destroyed by a single Tengu?

I remember seeing it on the killboards, and I remembered it after seeing all the current threads about TEST alliance successfully winning a fight against a single person.

YAY TEST! You did it! Your entire alliance rallied together to take down a single person!

Why does test believe that Chribba is in any way relevant for us puppies? His biggest in-game services is acting as a third party of supercap builders... which we don't use, apart from the glorified bus service some corps have... You need to go troll the null-sec carebears to whom Chribba is vital... oh wait that's you right?Blink

As a proper goon and gentleperson, I'll explain the whole pubbie thing. The term "pubbie" is generally used by those of the Something Awful forums (goons) to refer to those who play on public, as opposed to private, servers in FPSes and what-not, and also refers to the general populace of most MMOs. Generally, it is used between members of a closed group, usually the Something Awful organization in the game, to refer to the rest of those playing the game in a denigrating manner. For example:

"This crazy pubbie was so desperate that we were able to get him to give us everything he had left to quit ganking his Mackinaws, and then he got suicide ganked by someone else anyways."

During their beginnings as an alliance, TEST spent a good amount of time chilling in Deklein under the eyes of GSF since they were relatively amusing, generally acting much as we goons did when we were new to EVE. Now, I'm not so sure. So, basically, TEST people are too lazy to come up with their own slang, and have to steal ours and abuse it.
