Of course it's a bit of an exaggeration, but regarding the topic of free speech, the only difference is now you get a prison sentence rather than a bullet in the head.

Laws against free speech? Check.
Prison terms for political dissidents? Check. (see Ernst Zundel)

I could probably come up with more, but I think the point is made. In my heartfelt opinion, imprisoning people because of the words they say is tyrannical.

There used to be a saying here in America: "I abhor what you have to say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it." THAT is liberty, THAT is how decent, freedom-loving people think.

NOT "lets create some protected classes of people, and punish anyone who says anything that offends the special people."

That doesnt make YOU free if you're one of the protected classes, that just means the bully in the schoolyard happens to like you.

Just dropping in to let you know that none of you have lost your minds, taking a simple thread that could be fun about a video game and now having a super serious discussion about specific deceased German leaders, unpopular political parties, protected classes, prison terms, and bullets to the head is very rational and adult behavior!

Ssabat stop trying to turn this into a discussion on freedom of speech. It was never about that. Nobody is saying you're not free to walk about spouting ****** this and ****** that. We're just pointing out that your speech, like it or not, can have an emotionally deleterious effect on people.
