Yea, I thought the same thing. The oppressive SOE (White color scheme) can get some ships, but EoM (Black ships) can't get no love aka pilotable ships.

Actually...
Due to the absence of sunlight in spaceships there is no evolutionary benefit of having white skin, the benefit of white skin beeing increased vitamin D production with verry little sunlight. Due to the lack of sunlight in a spaceship the source of vitamin D either has to come thrue food / drink / pils, or special lamps. In both cases skin coulour is irrelevent.
