CCP, why do you continue to call it T2 ammo balancing when you blatantly refuse to address missile ammo? The first time you iterated on this matter you removed the ship penalties for T2 turret ammo but left the ship penalties intact for T2 missile ammo.

This time you plan to enhance several types of T2 turret ammo but STILL keep T2 ammo ship penalties?

Many posts include a request for your stance on the issue and all have been ignored.

Step up and explain your position please.

That's strange, because I could swear they removed all of the penalties on all of the tech 2 missiles.....

That's because you're unobservant. T2 precision missiles still make your ship go slower.

T2 long range missiles in general need a buff. High damage long range missiles like fury cruise have an explosion radius that's way too high. They're utterly worthless even against BS targets unless you have at least 2 painters.

T1 torp - 450m , 450 dmg
Fury Cruise - 550m, 384 dmg
Navy Cruise - 300m, 345 dmg

Precision Cruise - 270m, 260 dmg
Standard Cruise - 300m, 300 dmg

Fury Heavy - 215m, 192 dmg
Navy Heavy - 125m, 172 dmg

Precision Heavy - 112m, 130 dmg
Standard heavy - 125m, 150 dmg

Same problem with precision. Barely an improvement over faction when you still need to use painters for both. Since anyone using battleship missiles is going to use painters to help them hit smaller targets, there's literally no reason to use T2 cruise missiles. Navy missiles hit big targets for max damage without painters, and they hit smaller targets roughly as well as precision when you do use painters.

Fury Cruise missiles need a 450m explosion radius to be competitive. Precision cruise need an explosion radius of at least 240m to be competitive.

precision ammo is pretty much useless - faction is better since it has more dps which compensates slightly larger explosion radius. very short range and speed penalty makes them even more pathetic.

at least for heavy missiles..

heavy furies are ok but i am too lazy to reload them, just use faction for everything.

t2 missile is still usable though. Lots of t2 ammo for guns has issues.

Hail....short of tracking boosted ships like firetail is a waste of isk unless a target is moving 0 m/s (great bash ammo, but pos' don't move....). tremor is blah and quake makes tremor look good (which is a bad thing, because tremor far from it).

Hybrid ammo is best summed up by the common phrase "the beatings will continue till the morale improves". Winter patch may fix this, but for a long time it was a fun question of what do you hate more, your guns or your ammo.

Crystal not up to speed on. Since amarr really favor only a few types, its usually a sign of they like it because the rest not worth running.

pulse t2 crystals are ok, beam ones are useless.. although aurora seems ok but it's still not used much for some reason. maybe because people just don't use lasers for sniping.

The ship signature radius and speed penalty of T2 missiles are removed in Crucible so they are boosted
Precision missiles remain useless though, because of their reduced damage and range you're better off shooting faction and do more damage

They were removed until they were not. I can not keep track with all the on again off again, but what I do know is the issue has not been addressed in the blog on T2 ammo balancing this time or the last.

It would be nice to have an official word.
