Netflix and every other streaming service only seem to allow you to stream garbage most of the time. If you want anything good you gotta have a DVD mailed. And why spend money on a subscription service if you don't have to? I'd rather buy the few movies I like for $10 a pop and watch them whenever, than spend $11 a month for access to gobs and gobs of junk I don't care about, and own nothing.

Tonight is samurai night. *Grabs Seven Samurai and The Last Samurai off the shelf and slips one into the DVD drive on my full size tower*

Netflix is the only one of those that is a buffet-style streaming service.

To be honest, you have to look at what you'll be using this Machine for.

ArrowVideo Editing
ArrowPhotoshop
ArrowCoding
ArrowOffice work
ArrowLight Gaming (Flash "games"/Minecraft/Terraria/FTL...etc etc)
ArrowMediocre Gaming (EVE, GTA, Kerbal)
ArrowExtensive Gaming (12x4-c EVE Clients, GTA V (soon™) BF4)
ArrowHow many/What programs will run simultaneously?

You also have to factor if you're a file hoarder. If you're burning anything to disk. Multimedia options. (Video Capture/Audiophile)

Then you also have to ask yourself, how long do you really mind to wait for things to load.

I have 2 PC's for different uses.

For casual gaming/everyday usage I use the PC in room.
i3 2130
Generic ASUS mobo
8 GB Ram
Radeon HD 6570
120 GB SSD
1TB HDD
Generic Audio
300W PSU

Which runs everything I need. Dual EVE clients at medium settings both at 60-70FPS.

My dedicated gaming rig in my study is.
i5 4590
ASUS Z97-K
16 GB Ram
R9 290
120 GB SSD
1TB HDD
SB Audigy
750W PSU

On 3 monitors will run 2 EVE Clients 200+ FPS max res/settings (Interval set to "Immediate" in client settings.) And GW2 at Max Settings at 80FPS simultaneously! (on a rig that will cost FAR less the the one Alienware quoted you for!)
