Just sad when all someone gets is a killmail and 3 epanded cargo II. It really makes me want to send him a little isk. Poor little buddy.

As a 'Veteran' you should know better by now, otherwise you're just ignorant of how the game works.

If you're flying in low-sec in a hauler you're a target to just about everyone, if you're in high-sec and you're flying several hundred million/billion isk in a T1 hauler then you deserve to get ganked.

Regardless you chose not to fit a tank whatever your scenario (as stated by yourself above) and you deserved to die.

TL:DR; stop feeling entitled Roll

The french revolution brought a new school of thinking into existence, the "jeune ecole" new school.

These ppl had some demolisihing ideas that where the basis of napoleons land success.

In naval warfare, jeune ecole had simple ideas:

"Do not fight the enemies war vessels, destroy their trade vessels."

So destroying haulers in warfare is common sense now.

The only problem in EVE is high sec ganking - it needs stricter punishment, because the rules we have today actually protect the attacker in the long run.

What EVE misses is real pirates and real privateers.

Ransom or ship boarding - that is the way to go.

To blow your victim up and get blown up yourself is extreme foolish and boring - that is poor game design.

Ganking - gang wanking - is pvp in EVE - but only because the game lacks content.

Gankers usually are bored players, that are bad at fighting and look for the weakest target to hunt.

Imagine a robber - that robs a person, shoots himself dead and lets his comrade plunder the victiom. Piracy that means certain ship kill for oneself is just a failing game design.

Killing the weak and defenseless is where PVP crosses over into piracy, and piracy is one of the biggest content creators in the game, so stop crying and learn to Eve.

If the opportunity to kill a random hauler comes up, then you could get some nice loot from it. It makes perfect sense to shoot them. As for what others think about your actions in doing so, that does not really come into it.

But is it PvP? Who cares?

Is it not like eating the ear off of the chocolate easter bunny, only to find out it is hollow?

I think you are missing the point of it. Hollow or not, it is always delicious. Twisted

Ah the tears. Delicious tears.

I'd say cry my a river, but high sec is already drowning in them.

Almost as creative as ganking mining barges and calling it an achievement.
Almost.

OP: The game motto of "HTFU" applies here more than anything. Welcome to EVE, where your hauler is a juicier target than that PvP capable ship.

Hey guys.

in war, disturbing your opponents supply chain is a quite common strategy. As pirate its your income.

Even though its not a challenging 1v1 it doesn't matter at all since eve is a sandbox and things might be more complex as you might think at first.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

I think what you're referring to is that maybe someone killed a bot hauling goods. I sure hope that's what you're referring to, because if Player (a) activates a module against Player (b) then that is PVP.

It's Player versus Player, not Player versus Player (but only if both players want to play). If you need this broken down any further, then you may need to check yourself into the hospital. I think you've suffered a stroke.

In the event that the OP is somehow referring to his bot being blow up while hauling, I would suggest CODE adds this scum to watchlist in order to execute properly.

As a Vet, I don't give a crap about the isk loss. I am very concerned however with those that "PVP" (if that is what you call it)
and the empty feelings they have when they really didn't accomplish anything.

I am considering forming a support group and/or a foundation for those that choose this lifestyle. Post your support, send funds, discuss or maybe even send funds to your killer.

pvp = player vs player
hauler piloted player killed by player = pvp

your argument is invalid.
