enough with this silly challenge, want to help? help and be done with it. want to "raise awareness" then talk about it to your family members and friends, or go around the neighborhood putting up flyers. the whole thing is ********. i have to admit its not as stupid as "give this a 'like' to save starving children in some hellhole" but its not far off.

not one person that has donated to this because hes seen the challenges has done so for any other reason than some herd mentality and a sense of guilt. it isn't an awareness campaign it's a guilt trip, just like that koni crap everyone already forgot about.

are they all worthy causes? hell yeah. but this is not a responsible way of going about it. lasting awareness and education can't be passed on by people pouring water on themselves.

Not empty quoting.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

I'm glad most people are smart enough not to accept challenges by random people ...
... no matter what thought behind.

Heh, I've had heat stroke before, it ruins your ability to tolerate heat.

I don't need a reason to stick my head in a bucket of ice water.

Are you nuts? You're discouraging a fundraiser because the motivations of those who donate aren't ideal? There are a million and one things that are horribly screwed up in this world and sometimes all it takes is a little humor and a personal touch to get us to connect with one of them and help out in what little way we can. Of course education and awareness are a crucial part of furthering the cause, but are you really so cynical that you no longer see a good, honest effort to help when it hits you in the face?

Anybody who didn't learn about it by now won't hear about it now because it all propagate on the same god damn social media system. By now, to raise the awareness about it, people really need to get off the internet and spread it elsewhere. If you didn't learn about it, you are not on the internet and won't learn about it just because yet another person doused himself in cold water and posted about it on the internet. That's why this is getting ridiculous. People don't do it to raise awareness while they should understand that by now, you will raise **** all awareness because it's been around too much already.

You do know that doing just the donation is a total cop out, right? You're supposed to do both.

It just partially balance for all the people doing it without donating because it's the "cool" thing to do these days. At least he decided to do the important part of the challenge...

A lot of the videos I have seen for this are ********. They don't even talk about how to actually contribute to the cause aside from dumping a bunch of ice water on themselves. I would be happier to see CCP talk about it or do something similiar to the Plex-for-Haiti ****. Just to watch them pour ice water on themselves and not even talk about ALS would be no different then the other HUNDRED celebrities doing this.

And even then, what are the chance that the ATXII crowd does not already know about it? Raising awareness is only a thing if you actually reach out to people who were not aware.
