Station Containers need work

two idea come straight to mind when talking about station containers

1: not being able to reprocess, repackage or even delete station containers with a log less than 3 weeks old sucks... being able to at least delete them and get nothing in return should be an option if they have a log less than 3 weeks old.

2: station containers should be integrated into "Merge Items and ships into station panel" via a more customizable station panel if the pilot wishes. having an option via right clicking each container to have it show up in station panel is one option

I hope some solution to station containers gets picked up by someone someday. I have seen posts like this for years but no action seems to ever occur. Your point 1 shows the #1 flaw in these containers design. Here is my suggestion:

Instead of preventing containers from moving or being repackaged why not have the log itself transfer to what ever person in the corp has the correct roles when a container is repackaged or moved or the log is requested to be cleared. This way the log is not lost and the container can be moved or repackaged in a much shorter time frame with much less hassle. This way there is a always a log to at least one person, maybe the CEO or o all those who hold director or others with special roles to see this information.

What is ridiculous is having to deal with a 3 week waiting period for repackaging a container in my personal hanger that I setup to organize my gear and only I have access to in the first place. I usually just move them to an alt who does not have or need to do anything in his personal hanger and let them rot after changing the name of the container to the date I can repackage them safely. Its funny though that the mechanics let you move these things to a characters personal hanger by contract or other means whereby the audit log is no longer available to the corp management, but they don't let you repackage the thing when you are the CEO of the corp itself. I say just put the audit log in an corp notice to the right people as to who repackaged or reset the log or moved the container.

And a second possible suggestion. Why not just make the current station containers called secure station containers and make normal station containers that act like over sized freighter containers and have no audit log whatsoever. Then the person or corp has a choice if they want this sort of security or not.

thought I would add some alternative suggestions:
how about all audit logs for corp hangers themselves being part of the corp management panel.you would not even need audit log containers as it will be done on a hanger level to include any and all things done inside containers inside of corp hangers. You could put a limit on the length of the log to say 30 days or something reasonable even. You could include some include and exclude options for what containers should be included and which should not be included in the logs. or other options to filter out and see only what you want to see. Containers part of the corp hanger logs will be locked in place until unlocked by a CEO or someone with the right roles...and this action of removing a container from lock down would also incur a log entry.

In short we need a way for top level management to be able to override restrictions for things in their corp hangers and for individuals to be able to override restrictions for things in their personal hangers. If your corp thief the CEO or a director then you deserve to lose your things but at least you will know who overrode it.

that is my 2 isk worth of advice.

Completely agree with the idea of moving audit logs to the corporate window. Do this and remove the reprocessing timer on audit log containers so the owner(s) can do anything they want with it.

There are players who think this will break the espionage and corp theft part of eve - but I have to ask if that's the case why did they bother creating containers with audit logs in the first place? There is no point of having an audit log container if you can effectively erase the logs by contracting the empty container away to an alt and no one in your corp would know where everything went. With this change you could still steal stuff, you just wouldn't get away with it - which I think is more in the spirit of eve.

it'd also be nice if station containers would act as a ship maintenance bay with enough room for a few battleships (make them bigger if you want just to make sure they can't be used for moving ships around) so that ships can be organised better in the fleet hanger

Station containers don't need work, they need to be removed. It's silly that we have to buy a big, bulky, cheap item to sort our own damn inventories. Let us make whatever divisions we want, no containers necessary.

I'd like to have a mirror of the market tree representing my inventory, only showing what I own. And the quick bar to show me my favorites with the possibility to create my own tree.
