good to find logged out players, and where they logged.

The world is a community of idiots doing a series of things until it explodes and we all die.

1. Gank 'Douchebag Miner' in his Hulk. Then Demand ISK from 'Douchebag Miner' to prevent a future suicide gank.
2a. IF he pays, profit. Find another miner.
2b. IF he doesn't pay, add 'Douchebag Miner' to your addressbook.
3. Use addressbook and locator agent to find him mining in some other region that he fled to.
4. Blow up another Hulk. Scold him for not paying and repeat the demand.
5. Repeat for weeks or months until he pays or quits mining.
6. Laugh in his face when he petitions you for griefing.

This business model does not work well without locator agents, so yes, I think they are valuable and there is no reason to remove them. I don't want to fly all over creation to find miners that flee 25 jumps away to hide from my attention. Just too many damn systems for that.

(And no, its not griefing. Hunting down and blowing up one person repeatedly is legal, because all 'Douchebag Miner' has to do to keep his future Hulks to fork over 200M - extortion is a completely valid activity in Eve. Refusal to pay an extortion demand does not mean that future 'regrettable and avoidable' Hulk losses suddenly constitute 'grief play'!)

They are a good reward for grinding standing.

And if the target is on the move, the delay is enough to make it so you still have to do a little scouting on your own.

I think their greatest strength is for hunting kill rights... which would be even better with an buff to Bounty hunting (see link in sig).

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!

Agreed, they should be updated and closely linked with bounty hunting.

In fact, I also agree they should be capable of giving you reports of a targets movement (or lack of them) going back over a period of time... if you have the correct skills, standings, and enough money in your wallet.

Tried using eve-agent.com to find a locator agent and no matter what criteria I entered it was always 'no matches found'. Anybody know if the site is broke or what? Or an alternative way to finding a locator agent? (nice to see the game Agent Finder is useless for this...go figure)

seems to be broken (for locator agents only) indeed.
