2 you are under estimating humans :-)

Yes, in its self destructive nature remember we are immortal clones now, humans then were not. And what do we do ?

Wow. Just wow. This topic is really some ****.

OP has no clue. None. At all.

THE EVE GATE IS ALREADY OPEN.

On our side, at least - but it's not quite that simple.

Contrary to the impression CCP gives lately, the wormhole that brought us to New Eden collapsed a long time before the calamity that severed us from the Milky Way. The entire point of the EVE Gate was to allow travel without the wormhole; our ancestors were smart enough to know that nature exists even in space and that wormholes are ephemeral pains in the proverbial ass that don't stick around long enough to be genuinely helpful. There's a chronicle about it, but I'm not going to look for it right now; there are a lot of chronicles to sift through. Maybe later in an edit.

So, the EVE Gate is open on our side. Good news, right? You can't go through it though; there is a constant storm of electromagnetic (and as I recall gravimetric) turbulence that is constantly pouring out of the open gate. Any ship that goes too close is unceremoniously ripped into space-shreds. How do we know the gate is open, then?

The Servant Sisters of EVE.

The original purpose of the Servant Sisters of EVE wasn't to supply us with funny-looking ships; their original purpose was (and remains) not only to be generally humanitarian (there's a specific SoE corp for that) but to also study the EVE Gate for clues and information.

The electromagnetic storms are cyclical; they increase in severity and decrease again, like tides or seasons. During those times when the electromagnetic storms subside enough to allow a ship within sufficient range for investigation (which is still a very long range), that's what the SoE does. They've learned a few things about the gate from their long years of survey.

The chemical signature of Isogen-5 appears with the electromagnetism surging out of the gate - if you weren't here when Apocrypha came then you don't know that Isogen-5 is a ridiculously volatile substance that makes for amazing and world-shattering explosions that can (and did) even disrupt the natural behavior of stars if detonated in sufficient quantity (it was).

We don't know if the gate on the other side of the connection was destroyed or if there was a massive Isogen-5 explosion somewhere in the artificial wormhole created by the gates (stargates create artificial wormholes - now you know) or what, but we know the explosion that came out of our side was powerful enough to destroy every single planet in the New Eden solar system except for New Eden I and the local star.

There's not much more; if SoE knows anything else they certainly haven't shared it.

The point of this long-winded lore lesson is that you have no clue what you're talking about and the stuff you want to propose simply is not within the reach of any race currently living within the New Eden cluster - Jovians included. This is the catacylsmic level of tech that created such an absurdly long-range gate. This is the cataclysmic level of tech that will be waiting for us on the other side - and that's just the minimum level we'll see. We are and ever shall be less than ants - nay, less than dust - compared to those we left behind.

Then there's the part about how it doesn't sound like a very good addition in the first place, but I didn't come here to repeat what everyone else has said about that.

^^ a really good explaination as to why the Idea has absolutely no merit whatsoever.

Oh, before I forget, it sounds an absolute nightmare to implement, it has completely inconsistant goals as a piece of games design, and most importantly.

It would be no fun to play whatsoever,

even if you managed to complete the mission the first time, you really would not EVER want to go through that again!

For heavens sake, be careful what you wish for, some imbecile in CCP ( yes looking at you mr psssht) might go "oh what a good idea, it's content, It must be good, and see! We are listening to feedback and player suggestions!"

And ignore the stunned rage, implement this piece of " creative design" , and bugger things up for everyone.

We are currently trying to reverse some idiots suggested idea in wormhole space that's getting rammed down our throat and getting nowhere, see what damage can be done?

There is one EvE. Many people. Many lifestyles. WE are EvE
