I can't be arsed going through this entire thread, but this page alone gives me the impression some people are mad about CCP's ships in their roam dropping loot, and more specificly plex? c/d?

But don't get the impression the event was a bad idea, it was great to see CCP in game like this. But yes, it is more likely a big alliance will titan bridge in - or titan / super cap you as you discovered - and grab most of the goodies. It was a nice idea to drop phat loot, with the best of intentions, but EvE is a cruel mistress, and I'm glad you guys were reminded of that :)

I'm surprised CCP decided to sprinkle Plex around, but apart from that, seems it went well.

Nice to know CCP are bumbling around space like they used to. Now all we need is TomB to come along (Does he even still work for CCP?) in his Jove ships and scare the **** out of some low sec or null sec belt ratters.

Shame you couldn't get Hilmar or Oveur to join the fleet though.

TomB was in the fleet and got on quite a few killmails.

This was neat, thanks CCP.

Now when is the CCP Mining Op?

95% of the players are loving EVE, the other 5%? On the forums.

The event was cool and i would like to see more stuff like this. However, what wasn't cool was PL turning up with a titan fleet and dominating... Even CCP couldn't compete with that.

Next time cyno's should be jamed or it should be held in a high sec system where concord could be changed so they wouldn't attack CCP.

Couldn't be more wrong on the loot front. The salvage and cargo Vulture's of RvB were there, so though they did get hotdropped, the phat lewt was very quickly snatched by RvB member's in attendance.Big smile

We sell a large boxes of tissues in 9UY down in Providence, feel free to swing by and pick one up.

EDIT: Also to be clear, im near 100% sure that not a single PL guy looted today, too busy killing 400 of the 700 dudes in system.

nice job, nice job.

A few extra PLEXes are a drop in the bucket compared to daily trade volumes, nothing to worry about imo.

But high quality faction ammo (Dark Blood, Domination, ...) is extremely rare and usually gets very slowly stockpiled until the Alliance Tournament approaches. Or rather it was extremely rare - until yesterday.

Ignorance or malice? probably just another proof that CCP employees have no clue how their own game works and what consequences their actions might have.

I look forward to the day CCP just counterdrop 300 titans on the PL superblob and wipe the floor with them. The PL chap a few posts up seems to have such a large stock of tissues he hands them out for free so I'm sure they'd be covered.

I honestly would laugh my ass off. Smile

You know full well that if PL lost a single titan to CCP escalation then their entire forum posting team would be flooding general with threadnaughts about developer bias right?

It seems fairly obvious to me that CCP intended to get destroyed by a PL fleet based on their actions. Call me paranoid if you like but I've been around here long enough to remember more overt ways of them giving their off duty toons isk from their CCP toons.

As for isk not being real money, that's true but it still has real money value. So do characters, accounts and the computer you play the game on. It may not be currency, but it is a good that can be traded for currency even if it's against the EULA. It is also equivalent to pissing in a lake and I don't think the whiners have a valid point. Giving out free game time for an in game event is perfectly fine and well within a company's rights. I doubt anyone would complain if a handful of plex's were given out for the alliance tournament or a design a ship contest. The only thing that would make it otherwise is if it were unfairly handed to someone, which I think it was in this case since I believe their fleet was deliberately configured and located to entice a PL hotdrop.

You miss the point. If CCP said "Hey guys we are going to play bait for the big null sec alliances, feel free to come and get your **** pushed in" then that would be fine.

You'd probably be your own best customer of your tissues if CCP spawned titans to wipe you out. No?

No it doesn't.

It doesn't because you cannot convert it back into dollars. So CCP aren't giving any one 'free money': they might be saving them money (that they might have otherwise spent on something other than EVE but those items only have value in EVE and no where else.

So what youre crying about is you didnt get a free ticket. Well tough cheese.

You could have formed a fleet to oppose PL. You could be running an alliance that could beat PL. Youre not - so I frankly cant see where your argument is.

That would be a definite plus Pirate

Besides, the TQ motd didn't say "don't fly what you can't afford to lose, unless you are flying a titan". Not that PL can't afford to lose a titan or two.

reality disagrees with you - these items have real value outside of EVE otherwise people wouldn't be willing to buy them for $$$ (at the risk of getting banned even).
