CCP has an opportunity here which is sorta slipping away. That thing is organized games matches under a ruleset which makes it relatively even for both parties.

I have spent a little time going over the arguments. Why the hell would CCP not dedicate enough resources to automate the arranged match interface? Maybe it is not "real". But it is fun. And people who enjoy that will keep training skills and show up knowing that matches last a set amount of time and such. So it is following a revenue stream which is proven.

On Tranquility it could be a "combat simulator" that can be team matches + observers. It is no different from DUST. If the interface existed to start a game then it could be automated. The tournament types could do their thing and people could commentate and everyone would be happy.

And aside from an empty arena with MJUs it could be different "maps". There could be different formats for point values for ships. It really doesn't ******* matter what they are. People can add to it. The radius could be 60km, it could be infested by officer NPCs. The arena could be 200km and have NPCs... The rules could be different for the different types of matches.

I THOUGHT THIS IS WHY YOU BUILT CARBON! YOU HAVE IT ALL THERE ALREADY! AND IN LIBRARIES AND CRAP!
