Another data point.

Seoul, South Korea.
Worked all day. DT, can't connect to game.

As another tid bit. I usually use a VPN on chrome. Could not connect to forums when I listed myself in the US. Can do so now that I've turned it off.

Same problem in France as some said.

By the way, that's really smart to publish news on connections issues with ccp servers on ccp servers... I'm using Tor to post this...

The issue is not only affecting CCP Servers, as I heard, websites like ebay.co.uk are also not reachable.

Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong. or solar flares are disturbing your connection or doom is near or aliens are scrambling world wide web... maybe...

Connecting from Italy trough Iphone Tethering H3g

I managed to connect trhu a VPN but that is not really a good way. It has given me problems in the past with CCP thinking I am sharing my login as the IP address used for the log in jumps all over the place.

Hi

I couldn't connect the Eve Server from Istanbul, Turkey.

Tried VPN'ing through Romania, didn't work.

I could however connect with VPN through Switzerland (Cyberghost is the specific VPN service I use). I am now in game.

Noting this if anybody has something urgent to do ingame.

That seems a bit generous considering the large number of people not being able to connect is directly related to their provider's (at whatever level). It's not CCP's servers, or CCP's ISP, or CCP's infrastructure that isn't functioning. It's that internet routing is complex, and when outages occur or changes are made which catch some big names unprepared, it takes time for the routing network to automatically learn new, good routes to get your connection through.

It would be similar to buying a car from a local dealership and they scratch the door. You ask the car manufacturer, who made (and sold) a perfectly fine car already, to pay for the repair cost of the dealership's mistake because they made the car, rather than the dealership that scratched it (or the driver on the truck that brought it in).

It's easy as regular EVE players to think about everything in EVE terms, but this is a larger internet routing issue that CCP had no control over, nor could they foresee, prepare for, or have the capbility to fix.
