Considering FW + Corps

Hey all,
I'm considering joining one of the FW factions, and have a few questions, but a little background:

First off, I am interested in actual meaningful battles and progressing the territory.
Was considering Amarr FW, I read a few stories, saw a few videos, and it seems these guys try to push it
I have plenty of combat skills, always willing to train into whatever.

So! Questions:
Where would I look for corp recruitment? I checked out http://www.factionwarfare.com/ but certain corps links are broken, and I am dubious as to it's state of current accuracy.
How do I find corps that like cool BC/BS fights?
Are there general attitudes that each faction has? Like.. Gallente are a bunch of farmer punks, Amarr drink too much coffee, Caldari fly lost in circles for hours, etc?
Are there any factions known for blobs and calling null allies for huge fleets of capitals? (I want to stay away from that) (I HATE Tidi)

If you are a corp that might fit, then send me a private message, as I think the ISD dudes will remove it from this topic if you post here.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks!

1. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=342520&p=1 should be up to date.
2. All sides will bring out the big ships if needed. Abune yesterday saw calmil bring a BS/BC gang with galmil dropping dreads. The amarr civil war saw both sides duking it out with BS before the wardec even went off. Not sure about the minnies though. Haven't heard much news about them in big ships.Oops

As for your other questions I'll let the others answer them since I'm not that active right now.Sad

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

FW is generally small gang PvP. Most of your day to day will be frig, dessie, and cruiser fleets smashing into eachother. There are opportunitys for BS+caps like just a couple days ago the gallente and caldari went at it in abune.

BC and BS fleets are not the norm for the Amarr/Minnie warzone - the common 'big' fleets are HAC's. Even they will get dropped on by PL or shadow cartel with capitals.

If you want FW be resigned to small gang stuff most of the time. As far as factions decide whether you like the underdog or not - Caldari seem to get smashed by Gallente every time they entrench somewhere however that warzone seems pretty active. Amarr are still suffering burnout and their progress in the WZ is stalled. The Amarr/Minnie WZ is quiet atm.

Once you have decided which WZ you prefer and whether you want the underdog or not choose your corp carefully. You don't want to accidentally join a 'for the lulz' AWOXing corp or you will wonder why your own militia shoot you on sight, also some old guard corps are ful of bitter vets who look at you strangely if you suggest 'pushing the warzone'.

Good luck let us know how it goes.

Grab the list from factionwarefare.com of all recruiting corps. Then circle corps from that list that appear on both of the following sites:

BC recent best: http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/rankings.php?type=corp&recent=true
BC all time best: http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/rankings.php?type=corp (optional, will exclude newer corps)

zkillboard list of top fw killer corps.
https://zkillboard.com/faction/500001/top/
https://zkillboard.com/faction/500002/top/
https://zkillboard.com/faction/500003/top/
https://zkillboard.com/faction/500004/top/

After that, it is all about choosing the best corp for you from that list which is a list of corps which don't suck at pvp. Read each corps forums, talk in their public channels, etc. If you prefer a particular faction then you can narrow down the list much faster. The faction really doesn't matter nearly as much as the corp.

Caldari and Minmatar tend to have more farmers in them than Gallente/Amarr, while Gallente/Amarr tend to be pure pvpers. This is because the Gallente/Amarr rats can be speed/shield tanked in an armor fit stealth bomber which can run L4 missions. Caldari rats WTBBBQ you with super long missiles and jam you 70-80% of the time and requires an ishtar/T3 to run L4 missions. Minmatar rats WTFBBQ you with super long range missiles and target paint you to make the missiles nigh-on-impossible to speed tank. I'm not sure what kind of ship you need to run missions, I would talk to the Amarr guys.

All 4 factions have hotdroppers and all 4 factions have folks that despise using the batphone. There used to be a good site, http://www.eve-census.com/, which gave good information about the size of fleets corps flew in and the shiptypes they got kills in. It was very useful to find our which corps truly did solo, small gang, medium gang, and larger fleets or a mix of all of the above.

Thanks for the great responses, all!

I am leaning Caldari because I like the ability to run missions, but I also like underdogs and fleets with good players.. Gallente would make me loads of ISK I guess, but just seems not as fun, as they are already winning

My goal is to try to get in some neat BC/BS fleets, but I am pretty comfortable flying cruisers and below, as well.
