The subscription is monthly not weekly, deal with it.

I understand your hostility to me, but Epeen was on this rare occasion trying to help you and you replied like a child.

You are entitled to that opinion no matter how wrong it may be. Have a nice day sir.

Really? Tell me how CCP would know you have a broken computer and are not just a lame duck that can't bear to go without a skill queue for a couple of days?

Thinking it through before you post. Try it.

Mr Epeen Cool

Really as a subscription based service that we pay for, there shouldn't be a need to tell them anything, they should have a tool available in account settings to put my account on hold myself. Lacking that, they should do so simply because I've told them via support ticket that it is an issue beyond my control and if that isn't enough I've also posted a video of what the laptop was doing when it started for a friend that is a technician to get advice on what to do next.

Whole bunch of entitlement there.

CCP doesn't owe you anything, they never told you when you signed up for the accounts "hey, if something beyond your control happens, lets us know and we'll hold things up for you".

If people could just go to account services and put their account on hold, I know what I'd be doing every night when I log off. Even if you could only do it once per month or once per year, people would do it just to save the game time. You seem to emotionally involved to understand why what you are saying is a crappy idea.

Why shouldn't I be entitled to manage a service I pay for? Sure CCP has no obligation to help me one time under circumstances beyond my control. Just as I'm under no obligation to keep paying them anymore if they refuse to give good customer service to a paying customer. They can be sure I'll complain loudly and proudly if they fail to give good customer support too. People deserve to know what kind of business they're getting involved with.

Hulu has subscriptions that you can put on hold. Probably because people were unsubbing so often and they needed to stabilize their numbers. Something for CCP to think about.

This discussion doesn't have to be about petitions for help. It can be about possibilities for the future.

Cue the guy who will tell us all how putting subs on hold is like, totally dumbing down the game.

We already know what kind of business we are getting involved with: a video game company.

You give them money for access to EVE online, you have that and that's it. You have no reason to expect anything else.

I lol every time someone tries to hold the 'paying customer' thing over some company's head. Paying customer don't make you a God, it makes you someone who can stop paying if you don't like the service.

Or a phone/web tool for management of training queues would also work. To be honest I'm surprised they don't already have that.

You've never owned a business before, have you? If you had you'd know the fastest way to go out of business is being a **** to your clients.

To be honest, if there was a phone app or web site that could be used to change skill queues with this wouldn't be an issue.

No offense, but >10 eve accounts is like nearly $200 USD a month, perhaps trim down a little and invest some of the cash in a cheap laptop or other emergency system you can use to log in and manage skills? In the event of desktop failure, I have a Toshiba laptop that is worth about $250 USD that could totally manage my skill queue. I would not want to undock or do anything serious with it, but it would work.

You must be new to doing business with CCP.

And I highly doubt the loss of 13 accounts will kill EVE.

That's a good idea and is something I'll probably do in the future. That doesn't help me now, however. And like I've said previously this was an unforeseen event. I'm not asking for a handout, only some damage control.

For every customer vocally complaining there are usually between 7 to 9 thinking the same thing but remaining silent. Something else you'd be aware of if you'd ever owned a business. I'm under tornado watches right now, would you be equally callous if the reason for my being unable to login was that my whole house had been blown away? I have a feeling you would. My advice? Never get a job doing customer relations. You suck at it.

And with that said I think it's past time I walked away from these forums and stuck with dealing with CCPs customer support team. Thank you to those of you that were helpful and gave information.

What does your house getting blown away have anything to do with a subscription to an online game lol. You're right, I would be 'equally callous', especially if I didn't sell you "EVE Online Wind Damage Insurance" (available for 3 PLEX for 3 months).

But i guess you must be some kind of business owner right, and no matter how badly your customers screw things up for themselves you always give them a free ride, right?

I'll bet lol.

I've already put in a support ticket requesting my account be temporarily put on hold but I'm not sure that's the best thing to do or if CCP will even do it. I have 13 accounts in total. What is the best way to handle this? Can I put my accounts on hold or am I just screwed on time I've paid for?

Your basically screwed out of the game-time.
Been in a situation like this, (had my home flooded during a storm) 8 accounts lost some 3 weeks before internet was even back up in our town.
Petitions will say, "yeah that sucks, but we can't help".

Good luck recovering, as a multi-account owner myself, I know how hard this can hit you, especially if you pay with plex.

The fact you have 13 accounts and don't have a single way of accessing them in the event of a hard drive failure means you deserve everything you get.

I've actually never had a hard drive fail on me. I've heard the servo click and tick loudly but it never stopped working.
