Since the last thread got derailed and locked by two dudes bickering please try to stay on topic. The topic is highsec mercs vs. RVB. RVB won the first round but it looks like they got outshipped and blobbed on round 2.

https://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=24702572

I dont see any logi on the merc side, is this one cohesive fleet with one commander and one comms or does everyone bring what they want and hope it pans out?

There's something off with that BR because we killed lots of BBs and exeqs before bailing in that fight.

Anyway, fun war. We took the pocos we wanted, added a couple of dead POSes for good measure. Killed some dudes, lost some dudes. WTs surrendered to us last night so it'll be over in a few hours.

Props to everyone involved for bringing the fights. Both sides enjoyed themseves. The GSE guys in particular where impressive. Maybe a few will join RvB after this.

Then why is your thread called '''ALL OF HIGHSEC vs. RvB'' ?

You don't want people to derail a thread and your heading allready is off enough to derail it .... Roll

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

Been a good war.

My observations from this campaign are what they are. I've only seen Marmite around when they can muster a 100m+ fleet and then the only thing they do is reinforce some POCOs. They never really actually come around to finish them off. If I want to see them outside of such show of force, I need to go to the Jita 4-4 and ideally alone, else they'll just dock up. Galactic Skyfleet Empire on the other hand I have a lot more respect for, those guys were fun; I say that in the most respectful way possible.

As for your campaign, yea I suppose Marmite & Co. 'won' when you count the actual kills. We've done double the ISK damage though and in terms of infrastructure, they've lost big. RvB kept its own intact and you guys lost a few POCOs and POSs. I don't think you should glorify your kill ratio too much there.

In the end all you did was give us more targets to shoot. RvB is designed to be in a perpetual state of war and all you did was bring us more meat for the grinder. War is what we do.

Thanks for the pew.

Yeh was a nice fight. Good to see GSE people learning pretty fast and we had a great FC.

Good fight !

You do realise in the first engagement there was equal numbers both sides and only 30 members of marmite actually in that fight, not everything in is this war is based around mermaids

Extremely contradictive of a RvB player to complain about blobs when thats your number one tactic to overwhelm an enemy fleet.

Good on mercs for bringing bigger numbers the second fight, cant beat em, join em.

I thought that was the Goons' number one tactic. :(

I did not participate in all the fights, so I can't speak for every single engagement, I'm only posting my observations for the fights I did participate in. The reason I bring this up is because Marmite has been the most vocal group. I'm quite aware there's more people than just them in the war.

GSE & friends represented, and that was awesome. Props to those guys, they are cool. My observation was that outside of the big "lets go reinforce some POSs" fleets, I didn't see any Marmites. I think I made it quite clear that I was impressed with GSE, who was very present in this war. Personally, I'd be happy to fly with some of those guys in the future.

I concur with this. It was a pity that other mercs did not get involved in this as they missed out on some good fun but understandable due to some having a few problems, But one merc corp not joining due to them being petty and thinking they are too elite to join was pathetic, All in all it was fun.

We should do this maybe annually.

The fight last night we were out numbered 2:1 and Marmite brought out loads more Logi and ECM, but doesn't really matter anyway. Has been a really fun war this past week, been nice to see GSE being so cool about it too. We have had some really nice chats with GSE guys during this war. RvB pretty much got what they set out to do, with the Jita part of GSE disbanding from the alliance (which we didn't set out to do!).

@Aivo I see what you mean now, most merc alliances also have other contracts running so juggling it requires between the RvB war and other contracts is piossibly why you didn't see them :)

@Sol I was aware that Forsaken and another merc entity did have a current war going on which made things awkward :/

@Zemo Yes they brought more numbers and were alot more organized, I did predict this in the other thread that the first fight was literally the beginning.... its a shame the war is coming to an end.

Anyone got the footage yet?

Lol, I think Marmite brought 2 Guardians, because the fc wanted more RR and less dps. But he, keep thinking that we did. Fear is always a good weapon in battles.

EVIL MERMAIDS, they come in the thousands, bring 10x more RR and ECM, they can blow up trade hubs with their farts too Pirate

***FART*** DAMN ! The forums just exploded.

We did have a little surprise waiting for the RvB fc's this time, which even the fleet didnt know about. Spieszzzz everywhere ! Twisted

Wait... You guys managed to get spies into RvB? Maybe I've misjudged you, you must be spymasters of a high degree at least.

I mean really, how did you get past their vetting process? Just look at their list of super strict requirements to join:
- Have a character in EVE

The Indecisive Noob - EVE fan blog.

Wholesale Trading - The new bulk trading mailing list.

Especially in RvB, our screening procedures consist of hitting the "accept corp application" button. But that's OK, I reckon the spies have fun in our fleets and stay afterwards

Wasnt talking about having spies in RvB. Thats easy. They even kick you and allow you back in the other alliance. I was talking about the RvB spies in our fleets.

You give us too much credit tora. We're much too lazy to use spies. (Then again that's what I'd say if we did use spies!)

Thinking we're 'too elite' has nothing to do with it.

When we looked at the war reports from the first battles it was an obvious clusterfuck with Mercs throwing ships at the enemy, having no real fleet doctrine or logi. The numbers were around 10B+ lost versus only several billion destroyed if I remember correctly. Doesn't really fill you with confidence does it?

The next day we were made aware of an RvB fleet in Jita consisting of what I believe were Rail Thoraxes, Caracals and Scythes. We gathered the few we had online and made our way to a pounce, prepared to warp in and engage even with it being on the undock. However it became quickly apparent that GSE were expecting us to engage as the primary force, despite being outnumbered, and drop logi to save the rag tag battleships and T3's they were undocking and losing. Sorry but **** that.

The fight yesterday that the Merc side won occurred with only two of us online due to timezone difference so we had no idea anything was happening.

Hope that clears things up.

If that was the fight on the 4-4 undock then you need to sack whoever was providing you intel - we had shipped into a mostly Cruiser down kitchen sink fleet - oh and you've also been kind enough to let us know something about the behind the scenes shenanigans that were going on - thanks for that. Your pride seems to be more important than op sec - nice to know for people who want to use you in future!

Last time I checked Thoraxes, Caracals and Scythes were Cruisers. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Also what Op-Sec? That intel channels and TeamSpeak exists?
