My take on the current stagnation

I would have to agree, the complete lack of any new (real) content has made the game very boring.

TBH the only thing that has kept me logging in the last year is fighting brave, and the only way to do that has been on my high sec war dec alt. My null main has be coffin struck for ages now.

I have read about, and played through summer stagnation for years playing this game, it has been bad at times. But the mood this year is different, hard to classify it in any way. But seems the thrill is not there anymore for most-and for a lot of players I talk with in the 3 alliences my char's are in. One single point I have heard over them all, ccp has not, and is not taking the game in the direction it should be going in.

I cant say what it will take to fix this problem. I have read some semi good ideas, but players cant fix this problem. I hope ccp can.

You people want to know why EVE is is stagnating? I tell you why, it's losing the fun very fast:

Everyhting is very easy now.

Travel is easy, just get a Titan to jump you around or use the JB's network, or even better use your Jump clones.

Logistics are easy. So you are right in the deep 0.0 ? No problem, here it is a brand new Jump Freighter to solve your problems. Use the cyno beacons and you only have to worry about not smashing your JF in the empire station.

Win a battle is easy. Oh look someone is actually attacking us? No problem we have plenty of time to deal with it let us know when the 2nd or the 3rd timmers come out and we will throw a **** ton of super carrier / Titans to the bad guys.

So you want to be in 0.0 but dont have the hability or the strenght? No problem, here, rent this system to the guys that live 28734872 jumps away. But dont forget to pay the rent or in 10 minutes you will be flooded with a 250 Carriers spider tanking each other, you will see how easy they will tank your damage if you dare to try to make a stand.

Win small, scale fights ? Easy, just get an out of grid link booster and you will become a leet pvp player, if the other guy doesn't have them only with a lot of bad luck you will lose.

Oh you want to get kills with no risk ? Here, use this cyno in order you can jump 6753246 guys on the guy that tried to fight you.

Yep, it's so easy is becoming BORING.

I remember to make freighter escorts in order to have stuff around my home in 0.0. It was boring but also extremmelly dangerous to do. Hell I still remember why D2 (Dusk and Dwan) lost the war the day a freighter loaded with more than 100 POS's died to pirates due to the fact the escort wasn't able to protect the freighter. You people imagine a war between 2 major 0.0 enthities being decided because some pirates destroyed the wrong freigher?

I remember to sweat while flying my ratting ship 2-3 jumps afraid of clash against a bad guy. Damn that was stressfull.

I remember how a BS fleet could go horribly wrong only by travelling to the enemy system.

It was dificult but also very intense.

And the fun fact is that the game can still be very intense. Have you guys thought why the hell people love to see the AT tournements ? You dont know who is going to win, skills matter, strategy matters, a bad call and you are done, the players of both teams have to be focused...

In 0.0 battles between the major coalitions you can go afk, watch a movie while your drones are shooting someone and you are being remote repped by someone that is watching some you tube videos. Thats what's killing the game.

You see folks, most of the changes in this post could not have come from highsec carebears. They would not know enough about the world beyond it to ask for these things described in this post. Looks like everything nullsec enjoys today and rails against suggestions of any nerfs to. So before anybody's like "hurf blurf! carebears asking too much makes the game too easy!!!!1!!" better think twice.

I think there's an old saying about people having to sleep in the beds they make.

Summer .... the excuse for everything.....

You Miners think you have it so damn tough.  When I first started playing we didnt even have mining lasers.  You had to fly close to an asteroid.....pop a hatch and gnaw at it with your teeth.   - Bitter Vet

First, the post you quoted didn't ask for anything. It just went on a hyperbolic tangent about various nullsec mechanics.
Second, if you haven't been keeping up, much of nullsec (or at least GSF) have been supporting nerfs to several of the things he mentioned. Though, much like back when each of the various titan nerfs hit, you will always have a few very loud whiners, angry that you're trying to 'break' their expensive, overpowered toys.

That being said, again, his post comes off as a bunch of hyperbole, written by a once habitual poopsocker, who's bored now that the game doesn't require four hour slowboats through null with a freighter and escort.
Wait...what's that? You mean there's still stuff required for sov that's too big for JFs? Oh...right.

I think the problem came about when CCP decided to start tierciding and balancing all ships in attempt to create content, instread of taking on the elephant in the room: Sov.

Whilst even sane person knows that tierciding does not create content, CCP actually thought it would keep the masses happy. On top of that tierciding and rebalancing ships actually destroyed some crazy fits that were out there. Every ship is now like McDonalds: fine, but bland and middle of the road. All this would not have been a problem if this would have let to more new player rentention, but since CCP decided to do nothing about their main issues (crappy UI, no proper introduction to skills, laughable tutorial, to name a few), this did not happen either.

So now we are in a situation were veterans are leaving because they are bored with the crappy sov mechanics and general lack of (new) content and newbies are not hanging around since their first experience is bad. Add newly arrived competition to the mix and it is pretty clear CCP has dug themselves into a very deep hole.

You can feel it all over the game: Eve is on a downward path. A lot people I know have either quit or severly reduced their number of accounts. All are stating the same reasons: fleet fights are boring, sov is horrible, theres nothing to do, alliance leaders yelling , screaming and begging people to join fleets, ganking is boring etc. etc. Not to mention the fact that a lot of people are VERY upset with CCP unclear information about max efficiency blueprints.

Summer has nothing to do with it, although it has low numbers as always.

The "stagnation" as you call it, has already been laid at the doorstep of server lag, time dilation, and the inability of servers to handle the force concentration inevitable with any power play. The upshot? The folks who'd unstagnate the game don't feel like putting up with the game while they do it.

All this speculation that spews forth as people mine their asteroids and apply their flawless logic to a simple problem with their faultless, computer like brains falls flat on its face in the face of this rude truth. The will is there, as the power has been assembled and is at the ready. The desire is not there, as the ones who are ABLE to handle the "problem" just don't feel like it.

And, to tell you the truth, neither would I.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.
