So, OP

If $15 a month really hinders your $200k college education costs (Assuming you are in the US), then by all means spend 180 hours a month to make that $15 to play eve.

That and never mention the word "free" until you graduate and get your first job

Right now I'm sitting on a few ships from these missions as well as about 3million ISK and if I want to keep playing this game (which I think I will) I'll have to earn my PLEX in-game as opposed to paying for it. I'm a college student and don't really have the money to dish on this game's subscription every month, and I also think it would be fun to strive for.

Besides the advice you've been given (ie, don't even try), why not subscribe intermittently? Play EVE in the vacation, not during term. For bonus points, if you really like EVE you can still avoid dropping out of university by this method.

Hey guys. This is my second day in EVE and I rather enjoy it. It looks kinda boring to watch on videos but being inside the game is a much different story.

That aside, I'm on a 21- day trial and recently completed the tutorial along with a couple of the Career Agent missions.

So how am I to make a lot of ISK in this trial period to fund this game?

To answer your final question, you basically cant.

It takes roughly 20 hours of basic grinding at high-end PVE to earn yourself a plex. Other ways of earning isk faster require significant skill points, initial isk investment and experience... not to mention potentially using social connections.

You don't want Eve as a job in college, you'll fail exams. Get a real job or work an extra hour every week overtime to pay for the subscription and it's much less effort and much more enjoyment.

I understand that it's generally not worth it to spend ISK on a PLEX, but I'd really rather have that $15 a month for beer or something.

A beer ? There's nothing more interesting in life than drinking a beer ? Shocked
You'd tell us that you want to save the 15 for some books, or a hobby, or to invite your girlfriend, or to give to the poor, or whatever... respect.
But a f*cking beer ?

I was able to plex my account after 2 months, month 1 training into a battleship, month 2 finishing out the plex (playing 1 or two hours a night).

After that I got smart(er) month 3 I spent training a PI alt, month 4 I spent training a PI alt, month 5 I spent training PI on my main, I now make over 1 bil a month with PI, so while I still plex my account I only play when I have the time to do so, and since I'm not grinding missions over and over just to pay for the account I don't get burnt out.

granted, plex were ~ 500 million isk when I started, wouldn't want to be trying to grind 800 mil now. also, you can't train battle cruisers OR battleships on a trial account, so unless you've got mad skills, you'll be sinking $15 into it for the first month

I just got a deal for a year's sub that is basically $5.50 a month via Steam's recent sale. Sure I had to put out the money in advance for this coming year, but then that's just one evening at the pub. One night out vs. one year EVE. Think about it.

As a newb I need the ISK for SHIPS not PLEX
