Hi all, just wanted to cast out a feeler thread to see what your thoughts are on the upcoming Hyperion release.

Are you excited about the upcoming Hyperion expansion due to be released in 21 days? What do you know about what's in-store with the patch/expansion?

Here's what we can glean from the 2 posts in the Features and Ideas forum:


  • Heavy Assault Cruisers will receive minor tweaks
  • Explorer's will be able to find new Jump Drive Economizer loot in Beseiged Ghost Sites
  • Capital pilots receive a new fitment option in the aforementioned Jump Drive Economizer


When do you expect to see a devblog providing more detail on the theme and changes to be made in Hyperion?

With the lack of any real news from CCP about the "fast approaching" next release its hard to get excited about it What?

It will be the best expansion / patch ever.

Ccp will maybe release some dev blogs maybe in a week or 2.
not much excited at all at the moment but maybe good things will come Big smile

oh good ... the Ishtar has needed a buff for a while


Its getting a slight nerf actually. Tracking bonus going from 7.5% to 5% per level.

Came expecting to hear how the Gallente Hyperion Battleship was going to get turned into an omfgbbq mobile. Left disappointed.

Only expansion I was excited about was my first because back then I was fresh enough to believe in propaganda. Now it's kind of meh, just make sure longer skill is in queue in case :hamsters DIAF:

There are a lot of "meh" responses in this thread in regards to the upcoming "named' patch/expansion...

Do you feel that CCP is obligated to release exciting new content in accordance with their new 6 week release plan or is it sufficient that they merely tweak the current meta with statistic changes and add an occasional module here and there?

Do you get the impression that CCP is excited about their EVE Online product anymore, or do you think it's tapering down. I've heard that businesses in Iceland have long summer vacation periods, do you think this is the cause of a seeming lull in communication out of CCP?

tha'ts just their first proposal and first pass, probably the nerf bat will be weighted more.

The only thing we can look forward to is somebody's tears over something because their min-max bubble got poked by some .0001 percent change in a stat or attribute somewhere.


Now, maybe, since the name of the update is Hyperion, that the actual ship called Hyperion can get a visible drone bay?
