I'll cut to the chase, my FoF missiles don't target militia friendlies and I want them to.

Anyway around it?

FoF in fact do not target anything that has no agression on you. The easiest way, I believe, to get them agress someone is to get agression on them. Say, target painter or a whore gun or putting drones on them.

Take it with grain of salt, I use FoF very very rarely in pvp situations bcos of how dumb they are and when I do it's because someone jumped me when I was using them in PvE, not because I loaded them up deliberately for pvp purposes.

Do note that FoF shoot the closest target with agression on you. So they are very trivial to counter once the hostiles figure out that it's a fof you are using by switching proximity once taking enough damage or by putting their most tanked thing closest to you (as opposed to something squishy jamming you, for example).

I believe I've gotten my FoF's to target militia war targets without needing to have them actually agress me, but I could be wrong.

I'm only using these FoF's when I'm damped/jammed out so getting a lock on something at that point is beyond the question.

The situation this arises in is when I jump in on a blob that I KNOW uses maulus/keres/griffins so I start out pre-loaded with FoFs so I don't have to spend the 10 seconds swapping ammo types. I'm familiar with the fact that they target the nearest thing, so I try to keep the maulus/keres/griffin closest to me. But when I go to activate my FoFs they refuse to fire, until I'm already jammed/damped down, defeating the purpose of course.

I'll just start with non-FoF missiles I suppose and swap after the inevitable jams.

That was patched a long time ago I believe. At least my FoF is not attacking my logi alt.



I observed that as well to the point the FoF attacked my own alt in hi sec (alt in different corp) giving me the CONCORD red timer, but it was a long time ago. I also believe it was shortly thereafter classed as exploit (it happened very reliably but one had to do things in very specific order) and was already fixed a while ago. I have vague memory of FoF stopping doing that even before they stopped attacking structures in missions / anoms / complexes.

Assuming this "trick" was what you had in mind. It is entirely possible that you had something other happening (as I usually do not use fof in pvp).

It'd be nice if FoFs operated based on standings or something and how your overview is sorted. I.e. if you're in caldari militia but have allies in minmatar militia you could set their standings blue, and have your overview set to place blue above militia wartargets, and FoFs would then ignore the blues and hit only militia wartargets.

But meh, FoFs are pretty situational, but those situations where you can harvest tears of people who think they can damp/jam their way out of PvP is too enticing to pass by.

I think I've got this. Have the awox guys rep you. Now they own your agression. You rep a bud, now he owns your agression. Now have your bud shoot you. He agressed you and it should chain back to you because you are repping him and it should chain back to the awox guys. If all goes well, you and your bud should be able to do as you wish.

If you want to bypass the rep portion, you and your bud could just set up a cap transfer to complete the circle. He can agress you w/ a web or painter also instead of shooting you. I think the key is you have to aid each other first (reps or cap) then agress each other.

This has a bit of hilarious in it if it works. I'm thinking you can work this out w/ corp mates as a means of non lethal testing. Please let us know if you figure it out.
