So the blackhole bonuses are pretty generally seen as the worst in the game

We get one benefit (extra speed) in exchange for several penalties which I will not list here.

Now we observe that we get an internia penalty and a velocity bonus.. taking a leaf out of the mordu ship line, remove the missile range modifier and change the blackhole bonuses to

+ X% inertia (to ships and missiles)
+ Y% velocity and explosion velocity (to missiles)

The result is a net loss in range for missiles due to them taking longer to speed up. if necessary make the inertia modifier for the missiles much harsher than the modifier to ships.

What will this change do? It will incentivise using some missile based ships in black holes as well as citadel torps/cruise launchers/POS launchers. This change to how missions function is already similar to navy caldari ships such as caracal/raven/drake which apply their damage (based on sig) by up to 25% better. This will help players using brawling and kiting missile setups to remain relevant in blackholes which currently massively favour turrets.

How could this be broken by players? Assuming you were inclined to suddenly reside in blackholes and start using cal navy ships it could be broken. Things like HAM legions or other medium/large launcher weapons would also receive fairly considerable bonuses to their damage application against target velocity (bearing in mind that blackholes boost player velocities natively so it's mitigated).

This would mostly be a buff to PVE play in wormholes but also provide a couple of extra options to players wanting or otherwise unluckily finding themselves pvping inside a wormhole.

Discuss. I put this motion out as I live in a black hole and this is one my current major pain-points. Turrets need only to change ammo to gain range and help overcome the blackholes effects while missiles get a range nerf and then lose most of their applied DPS thanks to the velocity bonus of the target being massively amplified by the blackhole. In effect, every ship entering a blackhole gets a "free overheat" on their prop mod.

*crickets chirping*

So. That weather.

We're all too blown away by the jump mass wormhole spawn hooplah to bother worrying about goatse effects.

I have and always will stand by the idea that not all space should be desirable. Black holes are exactly that and should remain as such. It's not like there's a shortage of other, more desirable holes to live in or anything.

Blackholes become the exception to the silly wormhole mass spawn change thing. Big smile

could change black holes to the opposite of a cataclysmic so your local rep is bonused but your remote rep is nerfed.

I think the animation for black holes should be upgraded. It should give the occaisonal quiver and maybe a grasping pucker from time to time. Any change in effects should be secondary to fixing the animation.

I, for one, want black holes to have sov and wormhole stabilisers, moon goo and ice belts!

I take it that noone wants to actually debate my op.

What is the point of making an honest suggestion to help blackholes when crap like this gets posted in response?
