De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Yep, EVE on low settings is pretty forgiving. Even on highest settings, it doesn't take a top-end machine to run like Crysis 3 or Metro: Last Light would.

So would I be able to play on high settings?

You will be able to play on above minimum settings in most environments, some may be more taxing, the fundamental point is you can play, so please do, and play with the settings as you go along :)

I would think so, yes. It looks like the 8470D is a notebook GPU, and it just seems to me that notebook never do quite as well as their desktop equivalents regardless of specs (I know the CPUs have a lot of power saving "features"). Still, EVE on high settings is still pretty tame compared to other titles out there. Still a drop-dead gorgeous game with the settings turned up, it's just that it's really just rendering a ship and a handful of objects in space most of the time. The big culprits of slowdown are usually big fleet fights, and that's pretty unavoidable if you want to participate in those fights.

Yes, all you need is a maybe a hundred million dollars and an expert in hostile takeovers.

Wait what?

Sure. But you gotta go kill all the Goonies first. Otherwise dont bother, or ask them.

Yeah, I run two clients on a 6.5 year old machine with 2G RAM and a translation layer (wine) because I run it on Linux. So with a modern Windows you can probably run one client reasonably well with your machine.

..

just kidding, you can probably run a whole fleet.

I don't know if it means anything but even a MacBook can run 4+ clients, or at least until my bandwidth has a hissy fit.
