Cool, yeah most of those things have sprted themselves out with the next import.

Generally I purchase items with one character and contract to aother to sell, can this app cater for that and is there anything I need to do to help that along?

Also is there a way to remove or hide the term ISK from the fields with pricing, becuase there is no space it blends right in with the numbers?

You can work with multiple characters - just add their keys. Also take a look through the preferences. There's some options which allow you to combine multiple character data. The margin tool supports region trading, if you're into it, by specifying custom data sources.

Yeah I added my 3 toons, ill look for the combine data thing when I get home. Hopefully (and what I am looking for) is toon A buys an item for x price and contracts it to toon B who then puts that item up for sale. The application then tracks the purchase and sell price to determine profit.

Ill look more into it tonight but that is basically what I am needing.

That's exactly what you'll get. If you have automatic cost adding and cost sharing enabled, you'll get all that info in a single table.

excellent, Ill look to enable that tonight when I get home, I assume it is something I need to enable rather than it being enabled automatically.

When I do an API import and then go through the import all feature the program always crashes with a evernus.exe has stopped working message, there is no other reference or anything saldy. This always happens on my main toon. I quit the game and go back in and the remainder imports OK.

I am looking at the automatic pricing, ive gone into preferences >prices and ticked:
- auto add custom item costs on fullfilled buy order
- combine character and corporation journal in statistics
- refresh prices after order import.
- share costs between characters

ive left auto-copy non overbid prices with price helper as i am not sure what that does

and I have left unticked fast price copy. that sounds interesting, what is that and how does it work? i know I can assign a kb shortcut, but I am guessing this allow me to chnage my prices in game manually but from the APP?

i am not sure how to actually do what I need to do which is move the items from toon A to B in order to sell and show the profit

Hm the crash is bad. Actually, I've not heard of any crash for months. Can you describe in steps what are you doing that causes this?

As for FPC - it's a feature which enables you to select an order on one of the order lists in Evernus and use a kb shortcut to automatically copy updated price to the clipboard and advance to the next order, regardless if Evernus has the input focus (which means you can do it from Eve itself without alt-tabbing). Prices still need to be pasted in Eve manually - no one likes market bots, after all.

Now, let's look at the dual character trading scenario. When you have all those options enabled, each time a buy order gets fulfilled for character A, a custom cost will be entered which is a weighted average of real item prices you bought. When character B sets those items in a sell order, the cost column in the order table will contain the costs computed from the fulfilled buy order along with margins stats and a ton of other info. That's how you'll know exactly hom much profit you make regardless of which character does the buying/selling.

OK, the Crash... I am running Windows 7 professional 64 bit and used the 64bit installer. (I cannot get the images to display so Ive provided links)

On Firing up the application I am on the character screen and I hit API Import

http://imgur.com/y9hAuxr

Which then fills in a number of details on the other side of the screen.

http://imgur.com/3yd3tJh.png

I select import all and get this screen

http://imgur.com/tOS06ky.png

On Characters 1 and 2 this goes through without issue, On the last character which is my main (last only becuase he is at the bottom of the list from the character names in the very top right, the program hangs, greys out and goes not responding like so

http://imgur.com/my6AXyF.png

after a short time I get...

http://imgur.com/G8bUnED.png

If i close the program and reopen, there are less items in the box here http://imgur.com/3yd3tJh.png (although I didnt make note of them so not sure if that will give a hint on where it is crashing

Hm, that doesn't give much data. Would you mind using a version with some debug info? I can compile and send it to you tomorrow.

sure, not a problem, will I have to uninstall this current version I have?

On the market copy thing, I am not getting what I need to do, sorry. I choose the ins button as the shortcut, i see from within eve client that someone is beating me on a price, I press ins and nothing happens... obvioulsy I am doing something wrong here. I get nothign weather your app is the active window or eve is the active window.

You won't have to uninstall anything but I'll send you the details tomorrow.

As for the shortcut, does the new price get copied into the clipboard and the order selection in evernus move down? If yes, everything works as expected. You have to manually paste the price in eve. If nothing happens, try a different shortcut. This has some limitations imposed by the system and not all shortcuts will work. For example, I use ctrl+f because it's close to ctrl+v. That way I am able to update my orders so fast, I hit a maximum number of updates per minute limit in eve (which I didn't know even existed).

I changed my shortcut to ctrl+F like you, when I am in the app, i press ctrl+f and the next option is selected which is good.

but then if I am in eve client and ctrl+f nothign happens

if I ctrl+V for a normal paste a different price is entered but the price entered is not less than the market order I am trying to beat.

ill play with this more tomorrow, i am tired and need to crash. mail me the app, itll be a few days before i can get it sorted being xmas etc

is the margin tool slow for anyone else? elinor produces results immediately while evernus seems to take 5-6 seconds to do anything after i export from the market

A couple suggestions for future development, feature requests if you will:

It would be useful for some of us to have something along the lines of Eve Central's trade finder, selecting an origin and destination and suggesting good items to trade, but something more robust. Eve Central's trade finder just looks at gross margin, with no inclusion of fees or margin percentage, so many trades suggested actually result in a loss. An application allowing calculation of margin percentage after taxes and broker's fees, along with other filters such as maximum value would be very useful.

Another one would be to be able to keep track of standings with multiple corps and factions, for trading between hubs. I'm not sure if you can pull that from an API but it would be helpful for people like me who flit between hubs trading but have different standings.

The margin tool has two modes of operation on Windows. Fast one (like Elinor) called the alternative method and a slower one. Everything is adjustable in the preferences. The fast one should give you, well, faster results, but sometimes not all data manages to get parsed, especially for a lot of orders. Elinor in such situation crashes (that was one of the reasons I started evernus); evernus gives incomplete data. That's why I recommend using the slower method (which is tweakable), which gives good results.

Side note: 5s is indeed a lot. For me the slow method takes about a second. Take a look at the preferences.

I'm making a market analysis module which should give some insight what to trade. Unfortunately, I'm a bit concerned with the speed of importing orders from crest. Getting all orders for sinq laison takes about 6min. But we'll see how it turns out. Maybe someday ccp will give us a bulk import option.

As for the standings - you have to enter them manually in the character tab. There's no way to see which station you're in to fetch them automatically.

Did you import the newest prices (from crest preferably) before copying?

Yeah understandable. At the same time, it'd be useful if we could store multiple settings for location, so say in the margin tool we could have a dropdown to select where we are and it would adjust taxes accordingly.

Sounds like a good idea.
