Anyway, since the OP wanted power, I've put together this easy-to-follow ten-step guide:

1. Connect with people.
2. Lots of people.
3. …no, a few more than that.
4. Prepare for step 5.
5. Give them something to do.
6. Actually, add a few more people.
7. Also prepare for step 8 and 9.
8. Solve their problems.
9. If you can’t solve their problems, give them the means, methods, and/or opportunity to solve them themselves.
10. Oh, and add a few more people.

Irrelevancies that you don’t really need and/or that you should look out for so that they don’t distract you:
• SP
• Grinding
• Waiting for things to finish.
• Downloading and installing the client.

Power is a funny thing. In New Eden it can come from a variety of sources. There are players who do nothing but grind ISK and use it to shut down alliances. They go around New Eden finding groups they don't like and hire the necessary bad guys to obliterate them from the galaxy. These players are responsibly for disbanding hundreds of players and yet no one even knows their name.

There are other players like Chribba who have had their assets protected by the entire EVE community due to the services they offer.

So no, you don't have to be a 10 year vet and leader of a top 20 alliance to matter.

Some might say you don't get EVE...what is there to get O.O? I grew bored of it all. I perhaps also have no desire to play alliance/corp simulator and project power in a sandbox universe that has already been colonized and mastered by players. I am essentially too late to the game.

Join a corp that isn't a renter and actually does things. Something like brave newbies would show you that you don't need millions of SP's to be effective in a battle and have fun.

As for being too late to the game - I remember them telling the Goons something similar when BoB held most of null-sec. They seem to be doing ok though.

This, I recommend Of sound mind though instead of our allies BRAVE, because I'm in SOUND.

This is what I got from the OP.

PVE boring, PvP exciting.
PvP the way the OP looks at requires massive amounts of wealth and people.

If you like CODE. alliance or not you can't deny that they are providing content to a small percentage of the EvE community.

Just a note for the OP. Walls of text will turn most people off. Try being concise with what you are trying to get across Better formatting with your paragraphs will help also.
