Is that one of yours and Feyd's infamous "Ishkur of fantastics"?

I'm actually working my way up to the Ishkur/Enyo at the moment, I could be in one with decent (for a young character) skills in just under a month. Until then I'll keep practicing in Tristans and Incursuses (...seriously what the hell is the plural for Incursus? Incursii?)

Grrr.

Fight 4: Rifter v rifter again. Opponent fitted with T2 guns and tracking disrupters. Fortunately I remembered to overheat and I had him webbed so I got to choose engagement range. With 10-15% hull left he popped. My first PvP kill!

Congratulations! This is a great example of the importance of speed and range dictation in solo combat. Don't forget to learn something from each of your wins as well. Big smile

I usually just say "I lost an Incursus, and another Incursus"

Unless I'm flying a Breacher and then it's "I killed an Incursus and another Incursus" Cool

I suck at pvp so i wont try and help you with that .. and i have 10's of millions of SP .. so SP doesnt really matter .. just another tool like the ship ... knowing what to do with it matters.

I am good at running away though .

This comes from being paranoid, from taking precautions .. like Bookmarking (BM) Safe Spots (SS) in main systems, to run to instead of planets and other objects in space ... i BM bounce spots around gates, and off grid at gates and stations .. so i can move more freely around the battlespace. Use Dscan to know whats around you. Learn you ship types and FOTM ship fits. I know that there is no T1 frig i would take on a garmer with .. and get the the hell out asap. On frigs i sometimes fit dual prop ..when i know i going to be fighting other frigs .. so i can MWD if i can and AB if i cant .. sometimes helps .. sometimes . die. I try and stay cap stable .. if at all possible .. i always use rigs .. anything to help. Use align when you are thinking about whether to fight or not so you can insta warp away .. If you just jumped .. take as much time as you need to figure out how to proceed .. 60 seconds is alot of time .. remember to breath .. check what ships the have, where are they in relation to you .. is your ship already pointed at a celestial for warp out .. maybe you can burn back to the gate.. maybe your already dead .. so who is the best person to try and kill while you have the time. Always get ready with the pod warp out .. some people have the Sun in their overview for warping out .. spam it as you are going down and you should insta warp out .. you could of course warp
out to anything .. but sun works for me as a default when i dont have SS in system .. as there is always a sun .. .

Slingshoting .. i think i can explain it .. maybe .. had someone demonstrate it for me .. could also be called rubberbanding.

The enemy is faster .. but you have tackle .. if you approach them they kite you and shoot you in the face as you charge towards them (so dont charge - spiral towards them to keep up transversal .. fly not towards them but at an angle so that over time you will approach - but we were talking about slingshoting) the key is to make them screw up .. fly away from them .. forcing them to chase you - except they are way faster .. you get them comming to you and the quickly re-approach them .. they have to react . so as to not get too close .. if they mess up suddenly their superior speed towarsds you and your turning and speed towards them might get them into your web range .. and then well then things are hopefuly better for you.

Takes practice and "luck" to pull off .. a good pilot will know how to always keep range .. but could get cocky or absent minded .. or hesitate for a second and then if you are lucky its all over. the fast kitty ships not have alot of tank .. so hopefuly with them webbed you can go to town on them.

--------------------------------

Logistics .. the best way i have found is to use an our of corp alt ... even if its a matter of turning off your main toons training time .. geting an out of corp alt hauler is really usefull. Get them to go guy 5-10-15-20 ships and all the fittings you need for all of them .. haul them all to where you want and then contract to your main .. spend the time to fit them all and then you can play pew pew for a while without having to do any more logistics for a while. I do this in RvB all the time .. i buy 10 frigs, 10 dessie, 5 cruisers, 2 BC a BS all their fittings and then haul them to our HQ. Lasts me a good long while if im careful .. or provides me with alot of fun if i lose them all. Either way .. dont peicemeal (sp?) it .. do all your shoping and hauling at once .. better use of your time.

History is the study of change.

in a nutshell. unless you got a horde of drones in your disposal you should avoid fights with garmurs aka. deny them fights.

They are completly op and fielding is basically like flipping a board game over.

but inb4 butthurt garmur/orthus post.

a legit tactic for kiters is slingshotting.

you overheat your prop mod and war scrambler and burn straight away from your opponent as fast as you can. when you see him starting to lag behind a bit you pull a crazy ivan and start burning straight towards him pushing your warp scrambler faster than you would finger your GF.

with a bit of luck he will be basically "sling shot" into you. Kiting fits are usualy goo once you get close and full damage on them.

Seems like the ISK isn't the issue but the logistics are.

Ships take most of the cargo space. So why not buy frigate BPO, bring them to , let say, Sujarento VIII - Moon 1 - Republic Security Services Assembly Plant and manufactor them at the place yourself? So you only need ship modules and minerals.

I plan to start learning PvP as you. As soon as I will get my PvP skills up. So I found low cost manufacture station next to minmatar/amarr FW zone and building there my BPO/mineral empire, just to be able to lose 20-30 frigates per hour few days in a raw ;) Frigates, modules, ammo... It will take a while to get all them at least to level 9 ME but after I get them, I only need to ship minerals there.
