Fitting out an Omen

I'm not new to the game I've played some trials on and off since '06 but I'm really having trouble on how to outfit my omen to survive the L2 security missions. I'm figuring i'm not using the right fit and thats why I'm having trouble.

If anyone knows of a great fitting I would very much like the help.
I don't know a lot of the slang so a further explanation of the items would help out too.
