If by "holding its own" you mean "working better than it used to but not as well as a Mach or a Nightmare" then yes, it will hold its own :) More so against the Nightmare which doesn't like serps. Mach still better in almost every scenario.

Rail and sentry Domi is still a better choice imo though. But the Mega is now a viable option if you just want to fly it because you're like that.

This one time, I like, totally did some stuff.

If you really want an immobile ~50km fit on a Navy Mega, think about this instead:

[Megathron Navy Issue, pve test pimped short range option]
Imperial Navy Large Armor Repairer
Armor Thermic Hardener II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Co-Processor II

Omnidirectional Tracking Link II
Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range
Tracking Computer II, Tracking Speed

425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
Drone Link Augmentor II

Large Hybrid Burst Aerator II

[empty rig slot]

Garde II x5

A mobile version of the same would drop the omni for an AB (and generally use faction antimatter with something other than sentry drones).

While we are EFT warrioring

DPS and lighter tank is key but I Still think you need to be mobile so I would do this

Tank (Serpentis) 393DPS
DPS (Including Drones) 1088

[Megathron Navy Issue, Navy Mega Rails]
Imperial Navy Large Armor Repairer
Federation Navy Armor Thermic Hardener
Federation Navy Armor Kinetic Hardener
Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer

Republic Fleet 100MN Afterburner
Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800

425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
425mm Railgun II, Javelin L

Large Hybrid Burst Aerator II
Large Anti-Kinetic Pump I
[empty rig slot]

Ogre II x5

Sad thing is that this is really not any better given how much it costs

Tank (Serpentis) 376DPS
DPS (Including Drones) 1085

[Kronos, Kronos Rails]
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Centum C-Type Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Centus C-Type Large Armor Repairer

425mm Railgun II, Javelin L
Salvager II
Small Tractor Beam II
Small Tractor Beam II

Large Hybrid Burst Aerator II
Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Ogre II x3

And really somewhat shockingly this is not that far behind either ship

Tank (Serpentis) 380DPS
DPS (Including Drones) 1032

[Hyperion, Hype Cheaper Alternative]
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Federation Navy Magnetic Field Stabilizer

Heavy Drones & no omni Garde's, 4-5 mag stabs with 0-1 tracking mods? Don't think I've seen fits so skewed for on-paper glory.

Excuse me, but what the f*ck are you desu?

Well the last hype isnt THAT bad :) But i do wonder why the hell 1 needs such a number of trackmods.
PVE rails are easily done even now, its cant be worse than that.... right?Cool

yup I am going to ditch artillery for the rail Vindi. 1k dps at 50+40 km is nice, with no need to launch those annoying drones. plus with 5 sec reload you can easily scale that up to 100km. sadly, 1 med needs to be wasted for sensor booster... also no AB but 150 m/s should be enough for gate crawl.

the best thing about vindi is that all you need is BS 1 for the full dps bonus which is more than on any other hybrid BS in game with BS 5 :) the price is kind of steep and keeps rising though.
