Is this harassment?

So just curious but I stumbled across the following link which comes from this thread

Now is this harassment? In this instance, the target clearly gets irate and upset, and the aggressor continues to torment them, so I see no difference between this and a particular other instance of "harassment", as the player doing this has specifically hunted them down knowing they are already upset with the intent of generating tears.

So is this harassment too, or is this the OK way to torment someone beyond their breaking point and chase them out of the game? Normally I'd just say "use a procurer" and move on, but this stands out as being the type of behaviour that supposedly CCP is now against.

Why don't you submit a petition and see if it is or is not?

I'd call it harassment, but some PvPers would call it RP.

Not my place to. Unlike certain ex-CSMs, I understand that it's the victim of the harassment who should decide if they feel it's petition worthy, as I might start a massive hate campaign against the aggressor only for the victim to ask me to stop. Then I'd have to go ahead and ignore the victim entirely since it will be my hate campaign, not about their suffering by that point.

See how confusing that would get? What kind of asshat would ignore the wants of the victim like that?

Just remember folks, this is what the new Producer wants us to promote to keep new players in the game...

Two of the defining characteristics of a carebear are wanting other players to play the way the carebear wants and whining on the forums for the game to change when they don't. Yet I see more threads on these forums from gankers than I do miners whining about wanting the game changed to suit them.

As amusing as it is to see how much of a target they painted on themselves, I've got to admit that you know you're bad at Eve if you've got to use the forums to find targets...

I copied a Borderlands 2 quote the other day and got reported for harassment. They must receive a lot of silly complaints from people who are unable or unwilling to use the block function.

If that was harassment, all of CODE would be banned.

It is not harrassment it is "player content" and "emergent gameplay"

You're not allowed to use the EULA as a bargaining chip, all offenses should be immediately reported.

I dunno, normally the code guys are hitting targets of opportunity, though often they do take it "too far" by the new definition. This is a bit further than that though, since the aggressor specifically targeted someone they knew was already upset with the intention of upsetting them further. The only intention was to wind this player up, and it wouldn't surprise me if they stop playing following this. So net gain: 0, net loss: 1 sub. Worth it, totally worth it.

lol, it's got nothing to do with the caps and you know it. It's the intent of the aggressor. The intent was clear, to generate more tears from an already upset player.

you know what we do lucas, she was calling for nerfs over a baisc engagement on the forums, we are free to do something about it if we feel like it.

Had the lot of us stalked her for say a week following and violanced anything she undocked in you might have a point but this is nothing.

now id recommend you leave it unless you want the next few whiny threads to be your responsibility.

So this is about morals? Please keep your social justice bullshit out of the game, I enjoy being a ****. In fact, I don't even agree with the ToS rules about racism and homophobia etc. While I understand their importance, I also feel they limit the potential of the game. i.e stop holding people's hands and let the players serve their own justice to people they hate.

Rules about RL harassment should remain, ofc.
