Like some of my friend stated.
Current eve development scheme:
1. CCP NEW expansion is live
2. Players state STOP : this will brake A, B, C, D ...
3. Time passes A mechanic is abused, B is not more viable , C - who use C any more, D why did CCP ever changed this , ...
4. 2 Years pass , CCP notices that something is very wrong
5. Without player consultation , CSM - sorry this is mistake , prepares some changes and new expansion in secret.
6. Go to point 1

Check latest expansion.
Yes some stuff is nice , did we needed it - as without it every thing could fall apart , did it change or fix current issues?
Yes, NO, NO

Sorry but nice and shiny stuff wont put EVE on right track.

This right here is the only thing you have said that says what your real issue with EvE is. And I can tell you with absolute confidence that waiting for something to happen is invariably going to lead to nothing but boredom. Because, even if something happens that you think you are waiting for... you already trained yourself to be bored. So the cycle is going to be endless.

Abandon your EvE life, start with an alt if you don't like base jumping with your main, but by the end of the week, don't be doing what you were doing at the beginning of it.

OP i felt like you on several occasions while living in null sec with my previous characters. This is what i did:

  1. left my corp
  2. left null sec
  3. sold all my characters in the bazaar and started fresh with a hefty amount of isk
  4. moved to high sec and decided to start fresh without any obligation to anyone or anything


And the result:

  1. Eve feels like a brand new game
  2. The field is open to try a plethora of activities which are not dictated from my sp or who i play with
  3. I got motivated to start a blog and record my activities while i rediscover the game


Offcourse you don't have to sell your character or anything like that but you seem to be in need of a semi-radical change in your playstyle? If your eve buddies feel the same why not talk about it and go for something different in the game?

Sorry , but higsec is not place for most null, and lowsec players.
Many WH groups live only in WH because it is safe gateway to nullsec.
Wh mass and random exit defines what can go in and out

If people treated EVE as "just a game", it would have been dead years ago. The actual gameplay is pretty bad. No, it's terrible. It's the conflict, grittiness, and somewhat seriousness that separates EVE from other games. Well, it used to, most of the real conflict is pretty much gone right now.

No, what happening is ccp is FINALLY fixing old crap that was left to riot.

I have been here for 10 years, not as long as some, but way longer then most. And i am thrilled that things are FINALLY getting fixed. The direction eve is going is, imo, perfect. You have to repair and rebuild the foundation before you add new stuff. So i am quite happy with the direction and the future vision. If eve, valk, and legion and the 4th unknown game (watch ccp presents sheesh) all link together in a way that works... then the future is bright.

It's always darkest before dawn, things need ot be repaired, then new stuff can come. Patience young ones, Patience.




The funny thing about this is, when CCP does add more stuff, people get all aspergian/OCD/Min-maxer with it and then go straight to the new stuff and play it to death.

I've been at this game for 8 years, NOT trying to experience or power play or "min-max" every last little thing, and have seen in location and feature maybe 30 percent of the game(at the most).

This is not a game to be "leveled". It's a game to have goals in, goals that are not what someone defines and not what measure someone determines (ISK or stats). Too much "Wow-itis", yet this is not WoW. CCP needs to stop it with the banner ad on the wrong websites.

The only good thing about EVE that has ever been true is the people you play it with. Just about everything else in the game sucks, is repetitive is aesthetically displeasing, is a massive time sink, or largely unapproachable.

The only thing good is the people. So I say find new people if you are getting bored.
