So what about the 500 corpses I have sitting in a cargo container. Would this be retroactive and I would have a chance to recover implants long deleted from the database or would you start from this point forward?

Actually I would like to be able to turn in corpses to factions their previous owner's had negative standing with to increase my ownCool

Probably just trolling but I still like the idea Lol

Let's see...
- corpse gets killmail attached to determine the potential of implants and quality of the clone
- cybernetics lab (illegal in high-sec) from pirate LP stores
- reverse engineer the corpse to get a chance of blueprints for one or more of the implants
- build new implants from the bpcs

Id like a new skill / mod, or even in station refineing system that would give you a small chance like 25% at level 5 to retrieve a single hard wiring or implant from a frozen corpse.

This has prob been suggested before or something similar, but after a long break from the game i noticed that kill mails now track implants lost so shouldn't be that hard to implement. Granted it would have a effect on implant sales as some would be getting recovered but i like the idea.

i often thought about this too...

i would make a skill cybernetic reprocessing or something like that which will let you use your salvager modules on fresh corpses in space (1-5% chance of retrieving one implant).

if a pod gets blown up the corpse would be salvagable for 10 minutes. after that time the implants would be useless.

i think that would be a fun added mechanic which wouldn't impact the implant market to much :)

I never leave a corpse lonely and drifting in spaceBlink

I was hunting for sick loot, but all I could get my hands on were 50 corpses[:|]..............[:=d]

A guy in Jita once tried to sell me a corpse, along with a killmail showing a lot of expensive implants and the skillbooks I needed to extract them: Cybernetics, Biology, Infomorph Physiology. He seemed pretty legit. Want me to look for his contact?

I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

This would certainly be interesting.

I got over 1000 corpses in my Corpse Box.

I doubt you would be able to do that with existing corpses though. But it would certainly be something to make some extra isk.

Hey, don't you be making suggestions to take away one of my favorite scams!

"Hey man I scooped your corpse after that gank it still has a couple implants in it. I'll contract it back to you for 30mil ISK."

It's worked way more times that it should....

Back at the vegas gathering in 05, they were talking about having this in the works, you were able to reprocess corpses and turn them into implants. Or maybe even recover a players implants. It was, however, never implemented

Good idea, great idea even.

Sadly, it benefits the Wrong People™.

On the other hand, if NPC rats produced corpses - there would already be a specialized corpse recovery/processing ship available, naturally - only able to tractor/process corpses flagged as 'owned by mission runner'. (wouldn't want ninjas to benefit, would we?)

But this primarily would motivate (and reward) gankers and pirates.

Therefore it will never happen, because, you know, theme park.

While implants dropping would be nice, the first time a journalists gets hold of the idea of treating corpses with disrespect, at the same time as a real world event, you could kiss CCP goodbye as an operating entity.

I have around 500.

It would be a hoot to dump them off the 4/4 undock and watch the pandemonium ensue as everyone fought over them.

No way! I use this occasionally to scam people into buying back their corpses. If it were to ever be implemented, I wouldn't be able to scam them over it any more.
