It's Iconic EVE really.

Years ago there was a pretty wide variety in loot taken from wrecks, then they nerfed it and mostly meta scrap came from wrecks. That stuff weighed a ton and gave very little Trit in return so they buffed it. Now it weighs nothing, gives nothing because they nerfed it again.

Nerf it, buff it, nerf it, buff it. It has been happening for ten years.
