Worth less doesn't mean worthless. If you consider it a waste of time to loot and salvage your wrecks please abandon them so others can!

I think the idea was to nerf gun-mining and buff asteroid mining.

IIRC one of the devs said it was also to make industry more challenging by eliminating the ability to build mineral only items, see that they're not selling, and then melt them down to make into other stuff at ~100% efficiency. Meaning, with 100% reprocessing there was little risk of building the wrong thing.

With Crius, if you manufacture something, you had better make sure you can sell it first.

I know I've seen complaints that it's not going to be possible any more.

Means manufacturers are less agile, when it comes to changing doctrines, if they hold a lot of stock.

(Part of me would like to see all ships made from ship components. like Capitals. Shifting most of the build time to components, rather than the hull.)

Woo! CSM XI!

First off, you say you got 1/11 of the value, but then it;s only been reduced by 45%, so you should have still got half the value. Sounds like you either fail at math or fail at reprocessing.

Secondly, keep your modules. When they roll the new meta rebalance, they'll probably be worth more.

Thirdly, what's all the complaining about ore for? I've got max skills, a 4% implant in a decent null station, so I get 79.2% after taxes, that's a 9% increase on the old ore values!

This character is brand new, so no skills for reprocessing at all.
The thread wasn't to complain at all, more to point out the dramatic change in the play style.

The numbers I posted was exactly what showed on the new reprocessing interface. Prior to the patch, this same character got about 75% approximately of the street value for the most part..

1) It was a good test using this new character due to him not having any skills. I think the 45% reduction you're speaking of is a maxed skilled character. the real base number appears to be a much bigger nerf for the non skilled toons.

2) For me it's as was mentioned by others in this thread, it's all about time now, since it was such a big nerf, the fun part was removed. The mission runner business is going to change over time in a big way. It was a close call before, to loot or not to loot, but now it's almost a bad choice to loot being the much lower values (sort of like using a assault frigate to run level 4 missions) and will only be done because someone likes to do it and not for profit.

3) As was also mentioned, the mining part seems to be the winner with the change.. I was only speaking about loot and nothing more, and posted because it was such a big change. Reminded me of the Rapid Light Missile Nerf..... ouch!!!

You're right, it has gone down, and skills would affect it a lot. With no skills, even under the old system I wouldn't reprocess, since you can sell them for 5-10% below their reprocess value with great ease.

It certainly will and has changed. Remember that the introduction of the Mobile Tractor Unit significantly increased the amount of loot people were pulling in though, since it suddenly became near effortless to collect loot (drop MTU, bookmark, collect later). This change will be offset against that, so the overall efficiency of a missioner compared to pre-MTU is likely still in the positive.

That was more of a dig at highsec players than a serious comment, since null has slightly more efficient refining now. For the most part ore refining will be about the same level as it was, but skills and specialisation will matter (pre-Crius it was trivial to cap refining).
