Personally I would drop Amarr and go for Gal, Caldari Cross-Trains well into Gal due to the shared Hybrid skills needed. You'll only need to train Armor if you already have T2 Hybrids. Also opens up two pirate faction ship lines. Worm/Gila/Rattler and Mordus Angels.

Min works well to due to that fact that they are fairly competent shield tankers. And if you don't have T2 Hybrid you can just get T2 Projectiles. that and they have a few missile ships ready for use. But I don't believe there are any Caldari/ Min pirate faction ships yet.

Amarr is probably the most skill intensive race you could cross-train into. I personally dislike Lasers, but that's a me thing. If you want to get a ship that gets a huge buffer and laserdeath things, then do whatever you want. XP

Zealots are great kiters, Mallers and Navy Augs are brick tanks. But you also get access into the Sansha Nation ships. Nightmare ect.
