I can't seem to locate them in the Market and no one seems to be answering on chat. Are these modules not in-game anymore or are they so sought after that there are none on the Market?

Catalyzed Cold-Gas Arcjet Thrusters are now known as Limited 1MN MicroWarpdrive I

There was a module renaming patch a while back.

they changed the names of things so they now "make sense" however they used to make sense and now I have no clue what anything is anymore. Also it seems to me that upgraded would be better than limited, so now I'm even more confused and have to check the meta level every time.

I'd just like to have the meta level prominently displayed, like the T2/faction part of the icon.

Thing is, most vets (bitter or otherwise) were pretty upset at this, because not only did many of the names go full-****** (limited is better than upgraded and then there's "Prototype" that falls in there somewhere too) ... but they also got rid of some really awesome sounding stuff (N-Type Adaptive Nano Membrane, Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon Microwarpdrive, Y-S8 Hydrocarbon Afterburner, etc) and made them pretty mundane/boring sounding (Prototype Adaptive Nano Membrane I, Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I, and Experimental 10MN Afterburner I respectively).

All with the reasoning "Think of the newbros" and "we're making it easier"... (some of the changes were good, I guess -- like renaming all the missiles to Mjolnir / Nova / Scourge / Inferno for EM / EX / KN / TH damage, respectively)

here is a reference chart for the old and new names of everything that got changed.

edit -- dammit tau! didn't see you had posted the list too Sad

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I understand the making the learning curve easier for newcomers like me to understand but some things like the switching to mundane names does not make it easier. For one thing it makes upgrading something seem like a chore and not worthwhile. Upgrading from Pulse Laser I to Pulse Laser II does not look like much of an upgrade. But upgrading from Standard Issue Pulse Laser to Holy Sh*t Pulse Laser sounds like you will own a world.

I still frequently refer to the named cruiser MWDs as Y-T8s.

The "Named" Modules are T1, Meta Levels 1-4, which are only available as drops off pirate NPCs (or player wrecks). These are outside of the non-named modules you seem to be talking about.

Using Blasters as an example:

Heavy Neutron Blaster I <-- Plain T1, Meta 0 (can be built from BPO / BPC)
Regulated Neutron Phase Cannon I <-- Meta 1
Limited Neutron Blaster I <-- Meta 2
Anode Neutron Particle Cannon I <-- Meta 3
Modal Neutron Particle Accelerator I <-- Meta 4
Heavy Neutron Blaster II <-- T2 (Meta 5); Can be built from BPC

Then there are (sometimes) Navy / Pirate faction versions, and Officer Versions... but they're generally "too expensive" for what they give -- especially on T1 hulls.

Man I got taken to town on the loot change for the Y-T8s and their ilk. I lost a small fortune. At least with the name change don't have to have the flashbacks.

I spent about a year or so running missions before I started PVPing. As a result I had a huge stockpile of meta 4 plates, EW and prop mods to use for fitting ships.

This was before the loot drop changes, so Y-T8s were in the 8-9m/unit range at the time - frequently more expensive than their T2 counterpart (which ran between 7-8m/unit, if I remember right), which, because I was lazy, I had not trained some skill to 4 in order to use (High-Speed Maneuvering, I think). This resulted in me using the Y-T8s from my stockpile on ships, and of course, when I inevitably lost something, there were more than a few "WTF Y U USE SUCH EXPENSIVE MWD" whines thrown my way.

My "because I have a huge stockpile of them from before I started PVPing" response did not always go over well.Lol
