Ok so I was contacted by 2 members of goonwaffe recruitment the moment I posted that I had a lot of ISK.
I was excited that such a large corp had interest in me and thought they saw a potential future in me.

So he "added" me to the "7 day trial" to join GoonWaffe, told me a ton of stuff about how they control nullsec and know about every fleet and that he'd protect me and fully insure my ships etc.

Then he told me that I should buy this build here:

MACHARIEL

Now after telling me around 100 times I need to buy this ASAP he told me about how he would transport the ship to nullsec with his amazing freighters. Who transport easily trillions every day.

I then did some research and he gave me coordinates to go too VFK-IV.

I found out that there is collateral on transport contracts in order to be safe, I asked him if I could put the ships price or up to 125% as collateral. He told me it would be an insult and that to join I had to trust their trusted amazing pilots.

He tried coaxing me into paying for my own scam hahah.

He immediately gave me bad standing and closed conversation.


I was very shocked, disappointed and sad to see that a huge corp like GoonsWaffe has to rely on a guy trying for DAYS to scam 4b out of a newbie....
I see the corp has hit a financial crisis, if any other members of goonswaffe care to chime in would be interesting!

Hah thanks guys, sadly I don't forgive or forget, so GoonsWaffe is probably going to be one of my enemies when I grow up in EVE.
Any way of figuring out who their greatest enemy is?

Since any enemy of GoonsWaffe big enough to bite a chunk into them is a good friend of mine now.

Historically? Themselves, mainly.

Now all you have to do is infiltrate The Swarm, rise high in the leadership thru devious political scheming, blackmail, and goat videos, until you replace The Mittani in ancient GoonFu combat.

And then you can forget to pay the sov bill after you go on vacation.

Hey, you're entitled to your own goons grr-ing just like anybody else, but why have a grudge towards the entire organisation?

Getting revenge on the guy who tried to scam you makes more sense, imo.

Sadly you already let a good opportunity pass. Instead of exposing him, you could've tried to drive him crazy and waste as much of his time as possible by pretending to be unsure, asking him to involve other members of his corp, etc.

You could also give money to Gevon Goblin if you want, though I doubt he's biting or even nibbling much.

Congrats on not falling for the scam. You are now ahead on the Eve learning curve :)

Don't let one guys actions sully the reputation of the whole Alliance. They are actually really awesome and if you go through the correct channels, being a member of Goonswarm has many perks. But congratulations on passing the Eve IQ test, you're smarter and wiser than most, well done. Be warned though, not all scamming recruiters are as sloppy and obvious as that guy was.

Seriously though, don't think that just because that one guy tried to scam you they are all bad.

Also their trying to scam you has nothing to do with the financial situation Goonswarm is in (which I'm pretty sure is exaggerated seeing as they do double reimbursement now). Those guys would not have put your 4 billion towards the alliance, they would have kept it.

N3 (and friends) have gotten the Tina Turner treatment every time they tried.
So no, not so much.
