Makes me wonder if there might be a correlation to how frequently you experience burnout vs how many accounts you sub.

Like maybe constantly having to manage the assets and skill queues of multiple toons makes everything seem extra tedious. Maybe just having 1 account keeps it from feeling like a second job?

Something to think about

I've tried my hardest to play with only 1 account.. but then after a week or so you start thinking "if only I could grab that from jita while I'm doing blah" or "Man it would be nice to have a scout" or "With just 1 more domi I cold clear these sites like no prob." And you realize that having 1 acct makes EVE really hard to do. Especially if you are low on SP. If you are training towards something that takes a month, and you realize you need salvage, or scanning, or processing, or hauling, or whatever.. you can de-rail your training queue for weeks filling it with little things you think you need.. or make an alt.

From someone who only does play one account, I have no problem doing it solo, especially with the peeps in my corp. Fortunately for me when I first started playing, I was still doing the tutorials and this guy pops into the zone and recruits me for my first guild back when I started in April of 2012. Played for about six months, couldn't afford to keep the account active at the time and let it lapse. Since I had an interest in an mining/industrial path, I had a lot of help learning what skills I needed to train and what not.

True, I'd train up some mining skills, then switch and train some fighting skills. I'd discover a module, only to discover I needed to train to use it, so I did. Primarily I was able to get my skills where I can effectively mine ore and ice and worked on some skills so I could fly battlecruisers (now battleships). I've kind of been a little all over the place with my training, but I've got my eye on piloting a Tengu, so I'm in the process of getting the prereqs up. The CEO of my current corp wants to do some wormhole exploration/mining and I've heard those ships are good for that, so I'm going to train to fly that ship whilst I mine ore to fund my expensive dreams.

A single account can be done, just takes time I've found. Will I get a second account at some point? Probably. But not right now. I have enough to do on this toon.

The same way you handle all other types of burn-out. Take a break and manage your time properly.
