I wouldn't say its as hardcore as eve, theres a lot of open world pvp that can go on but the only thing you can really loose from dying is a trade pack. You do have to take them across the ocean so you are very likely to loose them :P It was very interesting going to jail in the game.

I am just here to snuggle and do spy stuff.

One of my RL friends is enjoying it. Based on what he is saying it got many aspects that are similar to EVE mechanics so might be worth checking it out.

There are a lot of Eve like aspects but not nearly enough risk. If you are involved in taking trade packs across the ocean then yes you could loose hours or days of work and money depending if you own land or not. PvP is not bad but there is not nearly enough risk for the looser but it is still fun. If you want something good you do have to build it or buy it from someone that has. There is a sec status like system for "Pirates" that can eventually lead to you not being able to access NPC's on the major factions continents and be a global target to all players. The prison needs some work, maybe higher level punishments and not just being locked out of the game for 30m to 6 hours.
