Manufacturing material usage.

Hey guys,

I'm sure this is a super noob question, and has probably been explained like a million times, but my search-fu is failing me.

I'm just starting out with manufacturing, and would like to not have to update my material usage every time I gain a skill or research my BPO.

What are the calculations for this (post Crius calculations please)? Or where are they? I'm sure I've at least *seen* them but didn't realize what I was looking at.

Your help is greatly appreciated

Post-Crius skills do not affect material usage.

Post Crius: Total Material = Base Material * (1 - BPO ME %) / 0.9

so production efficiency was a waste to train then?

and how do ME and PE affect material usage then?

Last I checked on SiSi Material Efficiency skill is now Advanced Industry = 1% / level manufacturing time reduction.

See my post above for the edit with formula. [I edit my posts a lot. They need a good 10 minutes to "breathe" before reading.]

Use the program "ISK per hour", it is linked with your API and you can input your ME/PE and it will give you the minerals for anything! You can even import trade hub prices to get a close cost estimate.

"Your security status has been lowered." - Hell yeah it was!

thanks guys. I'll check out the ISK per hour and see what it'll take to get running on linux.

Isk per Hour is using the pre-crius numbers, so expect a lot of change in cost, components, etc. when Crius is released. ----> Anyone know when Steve expects to post an update post-crius?

Also, manufacturing profits might be screwy for a while as newly manufactured items compete with existing stock.

yeah that part I'm ready for, just doing ammo for now so my risk is minimal

lol there is so much money to be made in ammo it's hilarious, as long as you're willing to actually do it. Super easy to get into and really good money, excellent choice. T2 ammo is really nice place to get into invention when you're ready.

Beyond that I actually use an excel spreadsheet that myself and a buddy built from scratch, it does things exactly how we want it to. I'm not certain I recommend doing that though.

I went ahead and made a spreadsheet, that way I don't have to wait on others for updates and if the math is wrong I have no one to blame but myself.

I'm primarily a combat pilot, but if I can lower my costs and make some mostly passive isk on the side I'm not going to complain.
