Dark fuzzy patch in top-left corner :(

I don't like it...

I hope it's a bug, and not a legibility aid... It also shows up in screenshots which is bad - although, having said that, it does vanish if you ctrl+F9 to hide the UI.

Also, the combat overlay still distorts during warp, and the Sun doesn't... :(

Agreed. I'm not a fan of it either. I would love to see the sun distortion again as well. It's a really great effect.

Dark fuzzy patch?

Sun distortion?

Do you guys have screen caps to show? Cause I'm not really sure exactly what either of you are referring to.

Quite handy in amarr systems.

And the distortion of overlay.

The sun distorts correctly but with bloom being so bright it is hard to see. And the latest patch seems to downplay the whole distortion compared to first iteration.

When the new warp effect was first implemented, there was a killer distortion effect applied to the sun of your currently occupied system. That effect is no longer present.

I can read the text just fine without it. I think a feature like that should be made optional.

I like it more than TQ's old shaded box. Perhaps it doesn't need to spread that far out. but it is less intrusive than the box.

I didn't notice that before. NOW I CAN'T UNSEE IT. Sad

Wow that sucks! Why not use the tinted square background like currently on TQ? At least that looks like its part of the UI.

And the warp tunnel distorting tactical overlay needs to be fixed (or it could auto-switch off in warp, and come back on after).

Edit: just looked at it on SISI - it's almost unnoticeable for me. So... no biggie, I guess.

Tinted patch?

Omg it's only some trick you use when you have no idea how to graphics design...

Please remove it and just put shadows under the text...

I like the shaded corner, very subtle compared with the box on TQ.

The distorted Tac. overlay is ugly as sin on the other hand., pls. fix.

I noticed the shaded box too, annoys the hell out of me. I was so happy to see they got rid of the shaded box on sisi a week back but then they replace it with this? X

Also the first iteration of the warp effect was the best one in my opinion.

The shaded area does seem a little too large/obtrusive, as I can't seem to stop looking at it now What?

I understand it is useful for reading text in bright systems (hanging out in some Caldari systems that are very bright blue) but it would be nice to see a much more condensed patch, or line by line text shadowing if that makes sense. Much preferred to the large box currently on TQ though

Now that I'm back home, I have to say (again) that I really don't like it...

We have lots of rectangular 'stuff' on our screens that I manage to 'barely notice' every day, if you know what I mean, but for some reason I find this thing really intrusive.

Having a subtle drop-shadow applied to the text and UI elements would be a much better solution, in my mind at least. And even that --- only if absolutely necessary...

Yeah the dark fuzzy top left corner is a MAJOR turn off for all those new awesome backgrounds...
+1 to bring back the dark box we have on TQ right now instead of the fuzzy corner!

I'm a little more weirded out by the effects on the side of the screen from the warp tunnel.
If you look on the left side of these 2 screenshots, you'll see a distorted side of frame. Not sure if it was intentional or not:

I say keep the TQ shader but give us an option to hide or minimize the system information like one can with the Selected object or overview windows. I mean really, when one is mining or locked in combat do they really need a constant reminder of that they're in a particular system?

I honestly prefer this than what we have on TQ right now, but I wish I could have nothing there at all.

yeah keep the old TQ one, and give us an option to either hide the info or something else, the new one bugs me too much

Yeah. I agree.

Unfortunately, there's a new build up on Sisi, and the smudge is still there...

This is still being worked on and we might see some changes in the upcoming builds.
